Retractable, self-sharpening (their claim), the Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliner Pencils have been my only eyeliners for a long time now. I don't like the harsh lines from liquid liners, so these are my superfast, supereasy means to looking awake :P
Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliners |
The packaging of the Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliner Pencil is pretty simple. Remove cap, twist to get the required length out, and swipe. The earlier grey blue colour of the pencil casing has been changed to a neater black now. The product itself is pretty smooth and goes on the skin without any tugging. The self-sharpening bit - well, it doesn't really sharpen, more like you dont need to sharpen the tip. It's pretty thin anyway so this is a non-issue.
The Avon Glimmersticks eyeliners are very long-lasting. I take off my eye-makeup with some coconut oil or makeup remover cleansing cloth, and this comes off easily enough. On the rare occasions that I have just done a soap wash, this stays on giving me the racoon eye! There is no specific mention of whether it can be used on the waterline, but I do use it and haven't had any problems with it irritating my eye, and it stays on quite well. The Glimmerstick liners are quite soft and can break easily if you twist out more than the reasonably required length and/or with rough handling.

Emrald has a bit of a shimmer to it, but it's really not very noticeable. Another shade - Bronze Glow - has a bit more of the shimmer and is a lighter brown, but I haven't bought it yet.

Regular price: Rs. 229. Avon has offers on its products just about every month. I bought these for about 150 Rs. Check with an avon representative, if you know any. Better still, check the e-brochure at the Avon India website (is updated every month ).
Cool post; I've never tried Avon makeup before. Great blog by the way, I just started following you!
ReplyDeleteHi Ashwini..tx for dropping by. You have a pretty neat blog yourself...and now you know who is going to be haunting your blog :-) There are just these few things in Avon that I like. Most of the other stuff not so much.
ReplyDeleteI have used avon's strawberry lip balm I used to buy them was the cute potted packaging. :P These look nice.
ReplyDeleteHii Rati..I have never tried those. I stick to my trusted Nivea most times.
ReplyDeleteHi Rads,
ReplyDeleteI have tried these sticks but I found them a bit light. I like decorating my eyes with darker colors. For me it is either Revlon, Nivea or chembore now.

Shiva
Heyy Shiva..My sister says the same thing! She uses Max Factor now - she loves getting that dark dark black on her eyes.
