Pantene 3-Minute Miracle Treatment

This is a quickish post on something I picked up from Spar a few weeks back. Of course, I just had to pick it up since it said Miracle Treatment, but the fascination didn't translate to using it promptly enough! Anyways, I tried it recently, and it's good :-)

The claims:  Got dry brittle hair, split ends? Reverse all this accumulated damage with Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Treatment - errr..in 3 minutes :P

Comes in a pack containing 3 tubes. Why 3 in a pack? I don't know. For my shoulder length hair, one time use maybe about 1/4 of that tube. Maybe it's the ideal amount to cater to even the longer-haired for a month.

Each tube comes closed with a twist top, which you have to twist open and discard and use the product. It doesn't have a permanent cap. The actual opening is pretty small though and no worries about the product spilling out if you don't use the entire tube at one time, but won't it be nicer to have a cap we can fix back? I for sure will not be using the entire tube on my hair in one go.

How does it work?

A combination of proteins and vitamins penetrate the hair strands to repair some of the damage on the inside, hydrating it, and the outer layer is smoothed by a cuticle-mimic ingredient which is what gives back the shiny healthy hair appearance.

How to use?

Use this after your regular shampoo and conditioner.  Pantene suggests using the entire tube for mid to long hair. My friend has really thick mid-length hair and she didn't need that much. I would suggest using as much of this or maybe some more than your usual conditioner and trying first so you can figure out how much you would need.

My experience: I have tried deep conditioning treatments by Dove before, and I think a deep conditioning conditioner treatment from Pantene also before. Invariably, those would take tons of water (just like the conditioners) to get out of my hair. Also, I think its the silicones in the product that kind of gave a glossy cover over my hair and made it look sleek and shiny. With this, there is no such thing. There is some -cone in this too, but it doesn't create a slick on my hair. It washes off fairly easily, and my hair wasn't weighed down with anything. After it dried, I didn't find any drastic difference right away, but it was more like I was having a good hair day. So here's what I liked about it.
  • No extra shine or glossiness or anything, but just regular hair which was well behaved and nice.
  • No extra greasiness/limpness a day or two after the wash.
  • Didn't cause any scalp irritation or flakiness - this is a problem I have with most other conditioners.
  • My hair is generally dry and kind of rough by nature. I haven't abused it anyway much to get it that way. My friend colors her hair with just about any color she can lay her hands on, and she did notice that her hair much became much more softer and tangle free immediately after wash and looked nice and healthy.
My verdict: Loving it. Want your hair but better - just normal healthy hair without a slick/limp effect - I suggest you try this. You could share a pack between friends the way I did :-)

Cost: Rs. 225 (15 mL tubes - 3 in each pack) - at most stores.

  1. Hey Rads,

This sounds great. Will definitely go for it. I always read your reviews. Looking at the packing of lush I wanted to buy them but did not after reading the lush scrub review.

    Thanks for the informative reviews.

    regards

  2. Pantene causes me to lose hair for some reason. I used their shampoo many years ago. I too saw this, looks like a very deep conditioning treament.

  3. Heyy Shiva..you are soo sweet :) Lush products are good..I absolutely love them. I just didn't find the scrub very effective for my skin type, though many others love it. Its just about finding the right product I guess. Try their soaps..they smell yummy.

  4. Tanveer - this isn't that deep a conditioning treatment. For me at least, it just gave me well-behaved normal hair that's it. I didn't use too much of it either, so that could have been one reason no limpness. As for the hair fall, I get that with Head and Shoulders!

  6. Oh-ohh Palak, this is totally unnecessary for you then. I am not going to say lucky you cos I have a feeling its like oily skin girls being told they are lucky :-) Ya I guess volume boosting is all you would need and maybe a good clarifying shampoo.

  12. From what I have seen of your hair - NO. Don't change a thing..its good the way it is, and I think this might just make it too limp.
