I woke up bright and early today - at 8 in the morning - and it's a dreary cloudy day that is greeting me. Much as I appreciate that the horrible summer heat has finally gone, I do wish there was a bit of a sun every once in a while. Guess I am never satisfied! Well, I thought, what better way to brighten up the day than look at some Chanel goodness, and so here is some stuff I picked up. Sorry about the pics, it really is cloudy here today.
Le Crayon Yeux - Precision Eye Definer - Khaki Dore
Ombre Essentielle - Vert Khakhi - soft touch eyeshadow.

The only thing I picked up from the Chanel Fall 2010 collection ( Les Contrastes de Chanel - Fall 2010). Les 4 Ombres - Bird of Paradise - eyeshadow quad. This is a limited edition quad from an older Chanel collection. Never bought until now because I never was an eyeshadow person. It's just recently, with other blog influences, that I have started trying them.
Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base - a concept I was totally ignorant of until very recently! Not what my makeup instructor recommended, but I think this just might work for me.

I'm loving that khakhi liner. Very pretty color. A good haul, I must say :)
ReplyDeleteKhaki seems to be a safe colour for me :-)
ReplyDeletewowwww thanks rads for posting khakhi e/s price i was telling hubby its nearly 1600 - 1700 rs but its good now i have an idea m going to pick this for me this weekend for sure m still trying to resist but its high time i have to buy me chanel :) do a look dear on this :) will wait for it
ReplyDeleteYou should try their other e/s..forgot its name...taupe I think..as is the quad - Enigma. Actually quads are a better option with Chanel since you are good at blending :-)
ReplyDeleteNice haul :)
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me what an illuminating base is?
Priya, I think its because it has some kind of light-diffusing property, so your face kind of looks more radiant...but definitely not because of shimmer.
ReplyDeleteSo if you have any blemishes, redness, etc., this kind of softens it all out and gives an even appearance to the skin.
ReplyDeleteBTW..the makeup instructor wasn't meant to be taken seriously. It was useful advice from a friend who is pretty good at makeup :P
ReplyDeleteWell, Ms. Itchy-Witchy....why haven't you included the prices.....???? On second thoughts, I wanna to adopt you so that I can use up all your Chanels......I will be an obedient baby........
ReplyDeleteYou will be an obedient baby? And you want to adopt me? So who will be the baby - me or you??? Price on request..hehehheheheheee :P :P :P
ReplyDeleteHe he .....either way, I am going to remain a baby.....you adopt me or I adopt you.........does not matter.......only what matters is your wardrobe and your Chanels.:)
ReplyDeleteMy wardrobe consists of a lot of used old clothes which I will gladly gift to you..heheheheee...and the Chanels...Babies are not supposed to use makeup. Sit quietly there now!
ReplyDeletehey you chanels fan...I am glad u r getting into eye make up..trust me it is the best thing to enjoy with..quad looks beautiful..Please do the swatches:)
ReplyDeleteIts all because of you bloggers who post these fab eye makeup looks :-)
ReplyDeletehey the khaki liner looks cool but it looks somewat similar to mac pearl glide intense eyeliner in blackline.do check it out if u go to a mac store. anyway lovely post. do check out my blog too. take care
ReplyDeleteHmm..not really, but I get the comparison :-) The MAC one is really dark and has these visible shimmers in it. I don't know how to describe this, but its more like you melt green-bronze into a colour.
ReplyDeleteLoving ur haul!!! esp the Khaki eyeliner and the bird of paradise e/s quadro - wow! oh pls do post some sort of review on the illuminating base would u pls?
ReplyDeleteI need Chanel now :( and in Pune!
Sure Gaea..just that I hope I make some sense with it. I am very very new to this :D
ReplyDeleteam sure you will! :)
ReplyDeleteah i keep opening the e/q quadro up there. that tealll - like the peacock's neck! (only a bit faded) but what a beauty! I am calling my folks up in Chennai, like right now and asking them to pack it up for me :p
Umm..the colours don't come out quite as bright...a bit muted from what you see on the palette. It was LE, and I don't really like brighter colours, so it was okay for me. You might want to check it out in person before you buy it.
ReplyDeleteHeheheee...faded peacock neck :D :D :D
ReplyDeletehmm true Radhika. Chanel is all about class and subtlety. good, so you probably just saved me some 1000s ;) [that i may just spend on MAC venomous villians or something! i so love evil ;)]
ReplyDeletewats LE :$
well i imagined that peacock's neck color may fade with sun shining so bright on it :p
Oops..sorry LE = limited edition..was too lazy to type :P Heheheh..more like 2000s. I loved the MAC Venomous Villains too, though I have to admit its purely packaging love. Anything with cartoons on it :D
ReplyDeletethku - bad at acronyms :p
ReplyDeleteyea sorry i did mean in the multiples of 1000s he he.
some of them are real nice - the malficent nail lacquer esp. not too tempting as u said. I am thinking of the cute Dr.Facilier mirror for his pic on it called "Iam so vain" mirror! how fitting and am I proud to be vain, lol
that quad is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt is, but the colours don't come this bright..which is good for me, I prefer it that way, but I think a lot of people are disappointed by that.
ReplyDeleteooh you mean the shadows aren't pigmented or it's just the way they are?
ReplyDeleteWhat I meant was the colours seem very bright in this photo, but they are actually a bit more muted..faded is the appropriate word I guess :P
ReplyDeleteI think you might get a better idea with this site:
ReplyDeletehttp://mymakeupreviews.blogspot.com/2009/11/swatchthoughts-chanel-holiday.html
oo thanks for the link
ReplyDeletei still really like the eyeshadows :P
so pretty... *drool*
how much does a quad come for?
Then you are just like me Rima :) I still liked the quad, in fact kind of happy its not that bright! I don't remember the exact price, but I think its around 2400. You can actually check the price of the Murano quad reviewed by Rati some time when you are there..it will be the same.
ReplyDeleteoh yeah i'll check it out there
ReplyDeletechanel... sigh.. when will i get my hands on something so luxurious!! :P
Hehehehe..we will all wait for Rati's next giveaway...and maybe bribe her too :D
ReplyDelete:D
ReplyDeleteloved your Chanel haul Rads, am still drooling... pls do an eye look when you can, would love to see and may inspire me to try some eye makeup too..I like subtle in eye colours too :)
ReplyDeleteRenuca
Hehehe...me no think my eye look would inspire anybody unless its to take a belan and throw it at me, but I will do it some time when I get it right :D :D
ReplyDeleteWonder why you are not able to comment other than as anonymous..what other ID did you try?
ReplyDeleterads if i show you my older pics you would throw belan and other hard stuff on me i was soooo bad in doing eyemakeup but when i did in front of you guys it was then when i got so much confidence :) and i thanks a lot to the platform i got :) i am now confident or say not very confident but yeah i have courage to do it more often:) u should try with ur khakhi color :) all over lid wowowow i can imagine how beautiful it will look:) me telling hubby abt the prices yest only but i think i will have to wait for some more time :(
ReplyDeleteYes I did use the Khaki shadow that way only Rashmi..but posting, no I don't think I am good enough :D The khaki shadow..wanted to tell you..I think you might find its unavailable in the shop right now. I don't know how I got it, but apparently my SA was telling me that it was the only piece available here.
ReplyDeleteAs in, I think Chanel has not done a proper official launch yet...not sure though.
ReplyDeleteohh :( i so much wanted it after seeing it on rati's post :( i hope i will coz i dont have perfect khakhi color except for Sumptuos olive ... i will try although and as i said i will buy next month only :) by then i might be able to get this i hope :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the swatch in the link you had mentioned to Rima.. It's gorgeous :) Love the eye pallete
ReplyDeleteI shd try the illuminating base.. Sounds intersting :D
I guess we Indians love these kind of colours..most of the reviews I read in other blogs sounded disappointed. The illuminating base, try it out a counter sometime, and use a non-matte foundation over it.
ReplyDeleteAh, a little Chanel makes every day great! :) Haha. Love the look of your new things! =)
ReplyDelete:D
ReplyDeleteHey can you post how the illuminating base worked on u?
ReplyDeleteHi Aarthi...I have just bought it. I will try to do a post some time ...maybe next week?
ReplyDeleteThe thing is I havent used it properly, sufficiently long enough to do a review..so I didnt want to sound too ignorant :D
ReplyDeleteHey Rads, we are all peace loving people here, no one's gonna throw belan (not even a virtual one) at you, on the contrary you'll probably get alot of constructive feedback on how to do the look better.. anyways do it when ur ready Rads, will wait :)
ReplyDeleteAbt the id thingie, not sure what I tried in past but Im ok being anon ;)
Renuca
Yup I am sure about the "loads" heheheheee. Look??? I am going to wash my face...put my moisturizer, this base..and we'll have a contest..let's see who picks the identifies the post-base photo right :D :D :D
ReplyDeleteThat quad is so.... fab Rads:-)
ReplyDeleteIt is, isn't it. The yellowish colour in it though..it shows up as almost invisible though..heehee...and has bigger shimmer in it.
ReplyDeleteHi, Can you please tell me whats the price on Sheer Illuminating Base?
ReplyDeleteHii Vinitha..its Rs. 2400..try it out at the counter before buying :-)
ReplyDelete"makeup instructor" ..."blog influences"
ReplyDelete**giggles**
Do the primer review soon. :)
Yup yup..my makeup instructor is useful sometimes :P :P And I totally totally blame blogs..IMBB right at the top of the list..for ruining my perfectly good bank balance!
ReplyDeleteLovely haul Rads and you call this a small haul !!!!
