Lush Dream Cream Hand and Body Lotion

Lush Dream Cream Hand and Body Lotion Moisturizer Review
Lush Dream Cream Hand and Body Lotion ($29.95/8.4 oz) at lushusa.com

I have quite dry and somewhat sensitive skin, and I always stock up on hydrating, moisturizing body oils and tubs of body butter.  I discovered Lush skincare a while back when my skin was going through a very itchy-dry phase, and I fell in love with their skincare range which is filled to the brim with natural and/or organic ingredients.   Much as I love their body butters and massage bars, I also need a lighter, less greasy option for a daytime moisturizer, and that's how I discovered the Lush Dream Cream.  This aptly named body lotion contains soothing oat milk, lavender, chamomile and is filled with natural essential oils and extracts that help calm irritated skin.  The lotion also contains cocoa butter and olive oil that deeply moisturizes dry skin.  This lotion is also available in a self-preverving/preservative-free formula for those who want to avoid parabens and other synthetic preservatives in their skincare.

Lush Dream Cream comes packaged in a big black tub, and it is a thick lotion that borders on a cream consistency.  To apply, simply scoop up the desired amount of lotion and massage on to skin.  The lotion instantly calms and soothes dry, itchy skin and does a splendid job of moisturizing skin without leaving it too greasy or oily.  It is slightly greasier than most lotions, but for those with dry skin, this cream is perfect even during summers.  I personally don't find it very greasy, but of course, compared to something like Curel or Bath and Body Works, this doesn't leave skin slippery smooth and feeling oil-free.

Lush Dream Cream is my absolute must-have body lotion.  The formula is so amazingly nonirritating, I have even used it for a really long time as my face moisturizer.  I have oily-combination skin and was going through a phase when my skin had dry patches as well as crazy breakouts - something I have read is due to skin being stripped of it's natural oils and overcompensating for that - and this helped calm my skin without causing any further breakouts or pimples.  I amn't recommending this as a solution for breakout-prone skin, but it did help sort out my skin and helped me transition to an appropriate skincare routine after some time.

This is a hand and body lotion, though, and I have yet to find another one that does as good and efficient a job of moisturizing my skin than this Dream Cream.  It absorbs easily into the skin and leaves it feeling soft and moisturized all day long, and it works the same whether it's winter or summer, humid or dry.  It's great at soothing dry, sensitive skin, and I have read that some moms reach for this for their babies too (diaper rash, eczema on cheeks, etc.).  While that's not something I can vouch for - I have no baby of my own to try this on 😛 - but going by my own experience when my skin was going through an extremely itchy and dry time, I would recommend giving this a try.

Bottom-line, a lifesaver from Lush.

  2. Oh for dry hands, probably, their hand cream might be better..Helping Hands. Hands (palms) and feet..I feel need really strong oily stuff. I use this for my hands/feet cos my skin kind of peels of for certain stuff..like soap and some slippers..the material, I am allergic to :-(( This has a long enough shelf life..of about a year.
