A traditional combination of herbs, cereals, and pulses that gently cleanses and exfoliates facial skin. Completely natural, it is nondrying and can be used daily as a natural alternative to soap. Leaves face fresh and radiant.
I picked this up from Hypercity on one of my rare visits to the place. I had read about Kama Ayurveda in some other blogs but never really tried any of their products or even seen them at any of the usual stores. This is my first and here's my quickie review on this cleanser.
The product comes in quaint packaging - a small steel dabba that's reusable. On opening the tin, the product is contained in a small plastic cover fit quite snugly inside the tin. I took it out easily enough, but I couldn't get it to fit back in as easily. I suppose you could empty the product into the tin and throw away the plastic. I had to use another container because of the hard water at my place.
Cost: Rs. 195/40 g. I have been using this daily for at least a month, and I am nowhere near finishing the product, so I find it very economical.
Ingredients: Herbal powders: Avena sativa (oatmeal), Phaseolus aureus (green gram), Amygdalus communis (almond), Azadirachta indica (neem), Santalum album (sandalwood), Curucma longa (turmeric), Cinnamomum camphora (camphor), Cicer arietinum (chickpea), Rosa damascena (rose), Foeniculum vulgare (fennel).

How to use the Kama Ayurveda Mridul Soap-Free Face Cleanser
Mix 1-2 teaspoons with water into a paste. Gently apply to moist skin. Leave on for 1 to 2 minutes. Lightly massage as you rinse clean to lift dead skin and release oil, toxins and environmental pollutants. I use this after washing my face with a mild face wash and use about 1/2 teaspoon of the powder. Since the product is a bit coarse (not rough, but just a coarse grind), when mixed with water it works great as a gentle daily scrub that cleans off any excess oil from my face and leaves it very smooth. This is intended to be used as a cleanser on its own and not the way I use it AFTER a face wash. I know it might seem a very strange way of using, but I just do what works for me. If you don't encounter much pollution through the course of the day or have very normal-dry skin, you could probably use this on it's own as a soap-free cleanser. My Thoughts on the Kama Mridul Soap-Free Face Cleanser
This is a great option for anyone looking for soap-free cleansers - use a makeup remover to remove any stubborn makeup and do a final clean up using this product. I use this after my regular face wash as a gentle daily scrub - I feel my skin looks clearer and is definitely smoother with using this. I have acne-prone, sensitive skin that reacts to the oddest things, but I have not had any irritation or breakouts with this. I would actually recommend to try this product at least once if you have oily/acne-prone skin since I found it made my skin look much fresher. Another plus point with the product is that because it's made entirely of dry ingredients, it has a shelf life of about 2 years from date of manufacture. There are no artificial preservatives or fragrance added to this either. Overall, I absolutely adore the Kama Ayurveda Mridul Facial Cleanser plus it isn't terribly expensive! :) :)Cost: Rs. 195/40 g.
