This would be a bit of an incomplete review, since I don't remember much about the product and could not find it on the Avon online catalogue either.
About the product: A tinted lip balm that comes packed in a lipstick-like tube. It is a part of the Simply Pretty range from Avon, and availability is pretty dependent on whether or not it shows up on the catalogue. The Simply Pretty range has products that are some of the most affordable in Avon. The simple plastic packaging is not too tacky or flimsy.
Cost: Rs 99 (on discount)/2 g
Available in 3-4 other shades, but I picked Plum Tart because it seemed darker than the rest.
Swatches:
On my hand..
This has SPF, but I forgot how much - SPF 8 or 15 - I don't really remember which :D
The Good:
- Good colour payoff for a lip balm.
- Fairly moisturizing. If you are lips are already chapped, this might not be of any use, though.
- Not very costly - just wait for the discount which with Avon would not be too far away ever.
- It has a bit of a strange smell - reminded me of lipsticks from when I was a kid. Nothing too offensive or obvious, but its there, and you would smell it while applying it but not after that.
- Does not do anything for already chapped lips. In fact, the colour makes the dry bits more obvious. So make sure your lips are smooth, then use this. It will keep them smooth.
- The plastic packaging seems simple enough to me, but some might find it unappealing (?).
- Missing ingredient list. There was a clearfilm wrapped around the tube which you have to peel off to open the tube. The ingredients were written in teeny tiny writing on it and of course got even more impossible to read after I tore it off.

ReplyDeleteSharon I remember vaguely there was a darkish red, a pink, and a noncoloured kinds..I wanted to buy the dark red one too..since the colour turns out quite mild on the lips, but didn't get it in the next order due to some miscommunication. These are not there in the catalogue this month - something similar is there but its a cheek and lip tint kinds.
