Bare Essentials Nail Polish Remover Pads

I had read about ELF nail polish remover pads on a lot of blogs and when I saw something similar at a store nearby, I just had to buy it.

Cost: Rs. 99/30 pads (expiry time - 3 years - unsure if its valid after opening)

A compact round plastic container holds the pre-soaked cotton pads.

The small cotton rounds are thin, and I thought they had dried out. It didn't look like they had any much product soaking them. However, there is quite a lot of product in each pad, as I later found out.

Product claims:

Simple enough. One pad for 10 fingers. On to the test. I used Maybelline Colorama nail polish - 3 coats - about 3-4 days old.

I forgot to take the after pics of the nails, but anyways, for the rest of the story.

The cotton round seemed very thin and dry - but it works :)
After I am done with all the fingers.

My experience with the product:

  • One round did take off the nail polish from all 10 fingers but didn't do a clean enough job of it. Now, I was not going to waste another cotton round to do the cleaning up work, so I cut one in half and used the half for the finishing touches. I think for lighter colours/lesser coats, one round would be sufficient.
  • It has a fruity smell - fruity/over-ripe fruity jam/jelly smell. I washed my hands off after using this. Its not an unpleasant smell, but I really do not like my hands smelling of over-ripe fruits. Goes off with washing, is really not that huge a problem.
I liked the product. It's easy to travel with or carry in the bag. It does a decent job of taking off the nail polish. The container comes with a secure lid, and I do not see a problem with the rounds drying off unless you are careless and forget to close it. I don't use/remove nail polish all that frequently, so this does not seem a very expensive option, but I guess a more frequent user might find it cheaper to buy a nail polish remover.
