MAC 187 brush and MAC brush cleanser
MAC 187 brush and MAC brush cleanser
This is my first time ever at MAC.  I found the staff polite and helpful.  Am used to very friendly SAs at YSL and Chanel, and the MAC staff seemed more formal, but definitely not rude or snobbish - quite contrary to the scary picture I had got from the not-so-great reviews I have read online.  Anyway, I am now the proud owner of a MAC 187 and hopefully will get some more brushes soon :)

MAC 187
Expensive, by my standards at least, I was super scared to wash it, but I did, and it does not shed at all and is super soft.  Yes, yes, all you MAC addicts can roll your eyes!!

  21. MAC 187 is probably THE most versatile brush and it works like magic. Great investment :). Their Kabuki brush is awesome too but I prefer TBS's Kabuki. Its super super soft!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I got the TBS Kabuki - using it for powders..it is supersoft :)

  32. Aw thanks Rads!! Its grown now tho :(. I'm probably one of the very few girls who doesn't want her hair growing. It was taken in Delhi near the parliament house I think. The Delhi heat had driven me insane and so I started dancing on the road haha not really. It was my very first trip to India and i can't wait to come back :D <3.

Oh yes and the kabuki! It's the cutest one ever! I use it with my blush. Blends in pretty well!

    ReplyDelete
  33. My hair is growing out of a horrible haircut right now..don't like it long at all. Short - somewhere between the chin and shoulder brushing kinds works best for me, I thinkkk..:| :D

    ReplyDelete
  34. I love having short hair too. Long hair is way overrated (don't kill me girlies). Short hair is so much easier to maintain plus you can wear it in a lot more ways than you wouldve thought. Not forgetting how much you save on hair products hahaha. And the list goes on...

    ReplyDelete
  35. heheheheheheh yeah and you dont but cheap stuffss dont you!?:P

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don't "but" cheap stuffffssss Ikky..only costly costly stuffs I "but" :D :D :D :D

  40. hey radho saw ur this post now :)
pretty cool hmmm :) 187 n that too ur first mac shopng......
honey wanted to tell u one thing of u dont feel bad

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hii..sure..If I feel terribly bad I can always delete na :D

    ReplyDelete
  42. yeahh u can delete .. or block me what ever hahah
    okayyyy ...
its nothing much i just wanted to tell u .. i too wanted to pick brush cleanser and as i always mentain i try things number of times at mac as i go there often and they dont come to assist me i myself do my job and out of the store ... so i was noticing why thier brushes are hard compared to my brushes .. i mean i asked a brush from MUA to apply blush myself and asked her the brush i have she gave me 116 no and it felt so hard and this happened 3 - 4 times so i was like why ?? my brush is still soft after 1.5 yr and their brushes r so hard ..
so i askd my manager and she is very frank and she told me .. rashmi we use brush cleanser very much thats why ... so i was like ohh...
so the moral of the story is pls gentle to ur GEM 187 and use the cleanser in 10 - 15 days hahah thats it ..i use Dabur red shampoo recomnd. by MUA to clean by brushes hahah
    thats it honey :D

    ReplyDelete
  43. Woww..err...delete/block??!! Blogger doesn't have the option of blocking anyone..so that's clarified :D :D :D

Yes, I do know that using the brush cleanser can ruin the brush. From what I understood, it is meant for a fast-track shortcut method cleaning - for use when you cannot wash-dry the brushes properly. In fact, the MAC staff did tell me specifically to make sure I wash the brush with regular shampoo and not use this as the sole cleansing method.

I got it mainly for the eyeshadow brushes - I have these very saadharan TBS brushes, just to take off a darker shadow I might have used the previous day kinds. But ya, I know I am very lazy so will tend to get careless and dependent on this cleanser only all the time, so tx for the extra warning :D :D :D

Dabur Red shampoo? Oh I will look out for that - its milder is it?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh that became so long a comment..I write essays everywhere!!! :D

    ReplyDelete
  45. yeah i didnt noticed... but when i posted and i saw .. i was like oh my god this is like half page ..
    but i hope u dont mind :(

    ReplyDelete
  46. Mine is another half page too :D :D No problem - is useful info only naa..

    ReplyDelete
  47. yeah why dabur shampoo ...i tell u :)
we say use baby shampoo .. baby ko kahan hair hote hain re , so its like no use for our brush hair as well , so dabur shampoo is aurvedic and is mild and cleaning well at the same time .. thats why i use it and its amazing u can actually see dirty going away from brushes

    ReplyDelete
  48. and one more thing i wanted to share with u .. u know we all read comments right ..i read u r eyeing mac paint pot... radhu i tell u i have 4 of them and still not happy .. what u can try out is .. see Elizabeth arden eye base .. it comes for 950/- inr and is amazing as eye base and doesnt have any color so its good too
and one more THE AMAZING product is Oriflame primer for face ...
it beats laura mercier primer too and can be used on eyes as well
hope u dont find me nosey :)
just sharing little bit knowledge :D

    ReplyDelete
  49. I don't know the name Rashmi - but there is a black-based paint pot, that's the one I was eyeing. Elizabeth Arden, oh okay..will definitely check at the counter.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I use my regular Lush shampoo, it works quite well too. Ya guess baby shampoos are too mild :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. i think u r talking about groundwork paint pot ... its good , MUA suggested me .. but i was like noo i have 4 and no more in a mood to buy , they dry so fast and u have to be really quick to apply ur eyeshd.... do check out Elz. Ardn. and oriflame
