I don't have a job. I am stuck in a place that is the makeup lover's paradise - but I don't know much about makeup either. I am just a simple stay-at-home wife - first time in phoren. Who am I talking about? Me, of course :D (Not that I am anywhere abroad right now, in Bengaluru I stay, but this is from some time back.) I was just cleaning up some things today, and I found some really old makeup I had picked up the last time I was in US or Canada - don't even remember where I picked these up from!
I picked up Maybelline because that and L'Oreal were the only two brands I knew of :P That's one reason. The other reason I picked it up was I kept reading this term "mineral foundation" everywhere, and this had a whole range of it. Seemed like I was in heaven! The foundation came with a brush, so it seemed like the most perfect thing ever created. Honestly, though, I still think the foundation and the powder are quite nice. I didn't pick up the correct shade, so if I put on a little more it tends to look ashy, but otherwise, it never caused any pesky pimples and made my face look a bit more presentable. To this day, Maybelline would be my pick if ever stuck in a drug store :D
I had to share another other pic here. I don't think this product is even made any more. Almay Pure Blends Foundation - no prizes for guessing why I found this fascinating. It had a brush and a gadgety looking packaging :D :D It has these little shimmering/illuminating particles in it that gave a little brightness to the face. I loved it!
This one is special for Farha - the blush with the brush :D :D :D Physicians Formula Talc-Free Mineral Wear blush.
I know a lot of you are falling off beds laughing at what I had to go to "phoren" to buy, but I really didn't know anything about makeup. The last time I went abroad, I didn't even know there was a Sephora very near to where I stayed - nor did I know what "Sephora" was :P :P
Today, I have a job, I read a lot of makeup blogs, so I tend to splurge on high-end brands and have grown to like the quality they provide, but I will always have a special place for my very first mineral foundation :D Plus, my ignorance about brands isn't any better. So what are your favorite drugstore brands from India or abroad? No MAC/Clinique suggestions please - I know a MAC is not a Chanel, but it still is not a drugstore brand :)
