Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick: My Mahogany (255)

Maybellline Color Sensational range of lipsticks claim crisper colours from pure pigments and creamier feel from nourishing honey nectar.

Colour:   To me, this seems like a a peachy-brown lipstick.
Texture:   Creamy, smooth.  Not too glossy but definitely not matte.   No frost/shimmer.

Swatch:  The colour is, as I said, a peachy brown, but it does seem to have a hint of pink in it somewhere (or so it seems to me).  It is a teeny bit darker than what it looks like in the swatch.

On me, the colour looks pretty light.  The lipstick manages to do a decent job of covering up my natural lip pigmentation.  I am undecided if the colour tends to make me look dull or not.  I liked that it was a light warm colour, and it seems to me like something I could use a lot in the summers.  I tried to do a darker eye makeup to go with it.  The lipstick lasted a good while too, about 3-4 hours and faded away after lunch and coffee.

I think it would go better with a darker outfit - like maybe a
black/dark blue kinds.  I was too lazy to iron it :P  Oh, and
hair tied up is a better idea.
The only problem I have is it tends to settle into the lines on my lips.  It didn't dry out my lips at all, though, and if you take the time to ensure your lips are smooth (a light scrub with a toothbrush would do), this shouldn't be too much of a problem.  I could detect a faint toffee smell to the lipstick, but only because I specifically checked for it after reading reviews regarding this.  To me, this seems hardly an issue, and the smell wasn't even obvious.  If you are sensitive to smells though, this might be worth checking before buying.

Overall, I quite liked this lipstick.  It was an inexpensive buy from a drugstore and I see myself using this quite a bit during the summers.  A bit more darker than what I am, and this might seem too light, but layering a gloss over this would be one way to make it work.  Also, it would look much better on people with clear skin and/or nonexistent dark circles, but I decided to ignore that criteria :P

Cost:  About $6
