Friday FOTD: Brown Eye Makeup and Peach-Brown Lips

I was watching the promos for Friends With Benefits the other day on TV and loved Mila Kunis' eye makeup.  I checked a few photos online and decided on a brown eyeshadow with a plum-burgundy eyeshadow on the outer corner - and black liner along the upper lashline.  Am sure she has a more complicated makeup, but this is all I am up to :)  Disclaimer over.

Products I used:

For the eyes:  I used NYX HD eyeshadow base.  Used Chanel Ombre D'Eau shadow Splash all over lid.  Used Inglot eyeshadow AMC Shine 30 for the inner corner.  Used MAC Vainglorious eyeshadow to the outer corner and crease area.  ELF liquid liner in black to the upper lashline and along the lower lashline.  Finished with a coat of mascara - YSL Faux Cils Noir Radical.

For the face:  I used MAC Select Moisturecover dual concealer followed by Chanel's Le Blanc base.  Used the Chanel Mat Lumiere powder foundation and Lakme's Kiss of a Rose blush.  Lipstick - Maybelline Color Sensational My Mahogany.

I spent the day chatting with my friend and did a bit of cooking (rajma).  No plans for the weekend, but what about you - what's cooking over the weekend?

  6. Furfurrrrrrrrrrr :P :P what did ya have for bfast today?? Tell fastllly..then I start hunterwaling :|

Neha - Hmmm..it is superexpensive - more than what I paid for it cos Chanel recently decided to move the prices little more skywards. Second thing - it does not give too much of a coverage since it is a powder foundation and would look caked on if you try to pat on more. I use it more as a powder with a teeny bit of a coverage if any at all. Chanel makes a mattifying powder which is also supposed to be quite good according to some other oily-combi skinned people. Those were all the faults if that is what I can call them. The good thing for me is this has never ever broken me out and I have very sensitive skin, so I stick to this because it suits me. It mattifies but does not give a dull dry look which is what I like. And you absolutely have to colour match perfectly or it will look bad. I know I didn't answer your question properly, but since it is so costly, I worry about recommending it to people :|

  7. The best thing to do, Neha, would be to go to the counter and try it on your face. Tell the SA that you want to try it on your face and then decide..so you put it and try it out for a day and then only buy. You tell them you absolutely need to try it out before buying.

  8. You look amazing Rads!
I meant to tell you this a long time ago, but next time you go to the US, ask for Clair's Mood Polish. Check it out here: http://www.nailsbyasami.com/2010/10/claires-mood-polishes.html?

I wanted to tell you this when you were in the US, but I kept forgetting.

  10. ohh i did convince the sa to let me try liquid foundation (matlumiere)on face.. trust me it was difficult. when he finally agreed and let me apply.. the moment i stepped out it strted raining and didntv have umbrella and a i got wet :| hence i didnt get to see :(
also wht she applied had way too much of a yellow underton.. i asked her to change and she wasnt ready to budge..! i have pale skin and yello based stuff looks wayyy to prominently yellow on me..jaundice types :| but she dint pull out cool tone or neautral tone hade.. i guess ill have to go to some other chanel counter now ... :P

  12. Neha - that is bad! I cannot understand how anyone would be willing to spend that kind of cash on a foundation without trying! I guess the SA is so used to me she never bothers what I do at the counter, but generally they should encourage you to try it out before buying!!!! Don't buy unless you are happy...waise...where did you go?

    Poohkie..thanks..:) :) :)

  24. Hey radhika. have been following your blog and love these. I hv been a non-make-up person so far. can you help people like us by posting a new blog on simple steps for eye make-up, preferably with pics, if possible...

  25. I am myself a newbie and learning my way through, so I will try but will only post if I get some decent photos. Will try for sure, though, again me being a total newbie with eye makeup my posts would seem almost too simple and basic :(

  26. thanks Rads. simple & basic is what i m looking for.
