South India On a Plate: Madurai Idli Kadai, Sunnyvale

I am a die-hard dosa fan, and if you didn't know that about me already...well...err..okay..so you know that now :D :D   Luckily for me this part of California is like a miniature version of South India - the Indian stores here stock chutneys and mixes I haven't seen in Bangalore.  I also managed to find a shop that serves up the yummiest, tastiest, mom-would-approve dosas.

Food:  Awesome!  South Indian, vegetarian.  My favorite - Ghee Dosa :D
Location:  744 S Wolfe Rd, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
#408-738-4354
Find them on the web at:  www.maduraiidlikadai.com

This "idli kadai" does serve idlis, in case you were wondering :D

  14. Some more notes to self: Don't ask Pooja what's for lunch unless you are going to her place for lunch :P

How do you make the garlic bread? I tried a mish-mash of garlic and butter on bread, but I guess I didn't do a good job at the mishmash and was biting into garlic bits...:( Love garlic bread otherwise if it's properly made...yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  15. Mince the garlic & add to butter. make the cut in loaf like slices but not completely & add the garlic butter and heat in the oven for 7-8 mins. you can add cheese too on the loaf if you like :)

  23. Ramya - after the vegetables are cooked na, just mash some of the potatoes into the gravy - gives a little thickness. Not make a paste of all the potatoes, just some of them just press them a bit with whatever you are stirring the gravy with...
