The 5-Minute Eye Makeup

When you are inherently lazy, blessed with speed that is about the same as that of a snail, the chances are very slim that you have an elaborate makeup routine and definitely not one that requires blending, brushing, or talent of any form.  Okay, maybe I generalized a bit with the "you" - it's "I."  I am lazy, slow, and can barely use more than one eyeshadow at a time :-|  The easiest thing to do for me is my 5-minute eye - almost fool-proof and definitely an improvement over a sleepy nekkid eye :P

Step I - The scary eye pic :P :P - Primer and set with powder.

Step II:  Tightlining.  I use a black eyeliner pencil and line the waterline.  Then, I use the same black pencil and line really close to the upper lashes - just push the pencil into the gaps between the upper lashes right at their base.  I don't know which of the two is called "tightlining," but the aim is to give an appearance of darker, more full lashes, and give a bit of definition to the eye.  It's quite easy to do (though it does feel ticklish) - just lift your eyelid gently and trace with the pencil.

Ignore the excuse of an eyebrow - I do believe camera takes off 10 inches :P :P

Step III - Liner.  Sometimes I just skip this part and go straight to curling and mascara.  Yes, I am THAT lazy, but it gets me bonus points when I am surrounded by people who like the "no makeup look."  At times when I am in the mood for some hard work, though, I use a liner along my upper lash line.  I prefer gel liners that stay on longer, and I don't have to worry about smudging, but now I have used the shimmery black pencil liner from Avon.  The kajal had miraculously disappeared between my photos, so I reapplied it and got it all smudged on the lower lashline :-|  Lesson learnt - don't bother reapplying anything.  It saves time :D :D

(The shimmer travels around after about 3-4 hours - not nice)
Step IV - Curl lashes and apply mascara.  Won't bother with curling, but the curler is still quite new, and I am quite determined to use it :D  Since I managed to dirty up the lower lashline with my repeated kajal application, I used a flat eyeshadow brush (because that's what I found) to smudge and spruce it up a bit.  I try not to do this most times since I feel it makes my already huge eyes look bigger - not something I am aiming for, but if you have smaller eyes you might want to try this (and set it with a powder eyeshadow).

So that was my down-to-bare-necessities-only eye makeup - a black liner and mascara. What's your laziest, most basic eye makeup?
