Wheatgrass: Tried and Tasted?

Wheatgrass - grass that grows from sprouting wheatberries - is quite common at juice bars and health food outlets.  Health benefit claims include general detox, cancer prevention, though apparently not proven substantially enough by scientific studies.  While I don't mind the antioxidant boost, I am wondering about the taste.  If you have tried wheatgrass juice/powder, would love your input :)

  2. Wheatgrass is edible..from what I know you have to snip the green part to use it in something like a smoothie. I didn't buy it, Cali..was hoping someone tells me how it tastes :D :D

  4. it tastes the way you'd expect grass or leaves to taste. not particularly appealing, but not repulsive either. just hold your breath (to avoid smelling 'grass') and gulp it down in one go :) you can blend and strain it, and have it like that or with milk. atleast that's the way i've tried it.

  5. Grassy smell..ohhhh....!! I think the milk would help mask that...will do it that way if I ever get brave enough to try it. Thank you :D

  6. Grassy just about defines it. but i do like its smell, as grass ;)
oh pls don mix with milk. instead of milk masking it, the whole thing kinda spoils :p [i felt in what i remember of trying it long back]
guess it isn't bad with ginger and tea like many say! :o)

  11. There's a juice shop near my place where they blend wheatgrass into the juice for 2-3 bucks extra & I don't mind the taste then since it mixes with the other flavors.I have that many times & the only way I've had it :) Try it that way if you are skeptical :)
