Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trios (Review/Swatches)

Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trios (Knock on Wood, Cool As Cucumber, I Got Good Jeans, Don't Steal My Thunder) - Reviews and Swatches

Coordinating trio shades takes the guesswork out of creating the perfect eye look. The "how to" palettes are created to highlight, define, and accentuate specific eye colors to create unique looks.

Don't Steal My Thunder (grey-black palette)
Cool As a Cucumber (green-plum palette)
Knock on Wood (plum-brown palette)
I Got Good Jeans (yellow-blue palette)
Wet n Wild makes some of the most affordable makeup lines while still providing some pretty good quality, and the Color Icon eyeshadow trios are a perfect example of this.  Each palette consists of three clearly marked, coordinated colours that make it easy to get the perfect eye makeup in no time.

The packaging is plastic with a see-through top that makes it easy to identify the palette/colours if you are in a hurry and/or have a cluttered makeup stash :D   Included in the package are two applicators - a sponge-tipped applicator and an equally small brush.  While I don't find these applicators particularly useful, they can get the job done if you have to use them.

Swatches:  I have 4 of these palettes, and I am posting photos and swatches of each of these.  All swatches are without any primer/base and are dry swatches.

Knock On Wood:  Plum and brown palette with a beautiful pink highlighter shade.  A perfect choice for anyone who loves the neutral shades and/or prefers subtle colours.

Cool As A Cucumber - Combines a forest-green lid shade with a darker taupe-plum crease shade.  A pretty pale green highlighter completes the trio.  Perfect for creating darker eyes without going to the dark smokey eye.

I Got Good Jeans - A fun palette with a brighter yellow lid colour and a deep blue crease colour.  The highlighter shade is a light blue.  The golden yellow and dark blue would look great on darker skin tones.

Don't Steal My Thunder - A grey lid shade, a black crease colour, and a white highlighter shade make up this stormy palette.  Great for anyone who just loves to do the smokey eye.

The eyeshadows in the palette are all quite soft and pigmented and are a dream to apply and blend.  They have a soft satiny finish that I quite like since I am darker and prefer a satiny finish to matte to bring a bit of light to my eyes.  There was hardly if any fallout with these shadows nor did they crease/fade/or smudge (I use NYX HD eyeshadow base).  Bottomline, wallet-friendly makeup that won't leave you disappointed.

Cost:  About $3.00 for a palette.

And this is a look I tried with the Knock on Wood palette:

I actually found it quite pigmented meaning I hadn't expected it to be so, for the budget buy. So when applied as per instructions, it turned out like a black eye for me :( ESP with my we're blasting off.

  11. Gio - got your mail. I don't know where you stay but you could get these online on Ebay or Amazon. It's just that I think it's not worth spending extra on shipping and buying this. You could get good makeup for that price in stores. If shipping isn't too much or if it's free you could definitely get these on Amazon.

  14. I think you have to be careful with applying these..since they are so soft, its easy to pick up too much and have some of it flying around...I did that today :D
