I have had oily, acne-prone skin for years, and until recently, a day without an acne outbreak would be nothing short of a miracle in my book. There are very few products that I have found to be effective at keeping my skin acne-free, and the Olay 2-in-1 daily facials cleansing cloths are one of those. A friend of mine told me about these, and I have been using these almost regularly since then. I do try out other face washes every now and then, but I always have a packet of these with me through all those trials.
The cleansing cloths are square pieces of textured paper tissues that have a face wash added in them. These are available in refill packs as well as in a plastic box that you can use to store them in. I have tried cleansing cloths for oily/combination skin type and the ones for sensitive skin types. The oily/combination skin type cleansing cloth has blue dots on one side of the cloth that provides a mild exfoliation while the other side is smooth and can be used on more sensitive areas like around the eyes. The cloths meant for sensitive skin types are more porus and smooth on both sides. Each cloth is quite generously sized, and I usually cut the cloth into halves and store - I need only half of the cloth for one use.

To use the cleansing cloth, take the dry cloth (it's some kind of paper, but Olay calls it cloth, so I say cloth too) and wet the cloth and rub it to get a lather and use it to clean the face. Use the textured surface (the one with blue dots on it) to get a bit of an exfoliation. Use the smoother surface over the more sensitive parts of the face like around the eyes and/or to remove makeup. Wash the cloth under warm water and use it to remove the soap from the face before splashing cold water to remove any residue. I prefer doing the warm water-cold water routine since I feel the warm water would help open the pores and clean them and finishing off with a splash of cold water would help close them. Back home in India, I don't have hot/cold water taps - it's just one tap that spouts out water at whatever temperature it is outside, so I don't bother with all this then :D

Obviously, I love the Olay Daily Facials cleansing cloths. This is my absolute favorite face wash - the one that I will always have with me and something I can count on to keep pesky pimples away and my skin clear. I have noticed a very obvious difference in my skin with using this. As I mentioned earlier, I need to use only half the cloth, so a pack of 30 lasts me a longer time. There are a few things to keep in mind, though, if you decide to give these a try:
- Olay 2-in-1 Daily Facials Cleansing Cloths are NOT the same as makeup-remover tissues. These are best described as a "different kind of face wash" and are meant to be used with water to wash the face. These do remove makeup, but only in the same way as a face wash would. Olay also makes really good wet tissues/makeup remover tissues (Olay Wet Cleansing Cloths/Daily Facials Express - reviewed here), and those are the ones that you need to use for wiping off makeup/dirt without doing a face wash. The names can be quite confusing :D
- It takes a bit of time to get these to work properly. You have to use the cloth to exfoliate the skin and to wash off any soap residue from the skin. When I have been lazy and tried to do a rushed-through job with these, I have found them quite useless. That's one reason I keep a regular face wash around - to use at times when I want to do a quick face wash and get on with my day.
- The biggest problem with these is availability..or the lack of it. Olay sells these Daily Facials Cleansing Cloths only in US, UK, and Australia (I think). I usually pick these up at Walmart, and I don't find them that frequently on shelves. Makes me wonder if these are so wildly popular that they are always out of stock.
