The Avon Glimmersticks lipliners are retractable lipliners with a matte finish.  Long-lasting, claiming about 12 hours of wear, these were the first "good" lipliners I tried.  I didn't really have any particular need for a lipliner, but the Avon's frequent discounts on the already low prices were just too much to resist. The lipliner has a simple, black packaging and a twist-up mechanism to bring out the liner.  It's retractable, but twist out too much and you do run the risk of breaking the liner if you accidentally drop it (happened with me, hence the warning).  The self-sharpening - well, there is no sharpening mechanism in there, but the liner never does wear down to a chubby round head since it is so thin.

Avon Red Brick Glimmersticks lipliner - Swatches on my darker Indian skin

The Avon Glimmerstick lipliner in Red Brick is a rosy red that goes more pink than brick/brown and coupled with the matte finish, it is the perfect daytime red for me.  The colour is very opaque and stays true to colour even on my pigmented lips.  I love the colour so much, I like to use the liner on it's own as a lip colour.  I fill in the lips with the liner and use a lipstick brush to blend it properly.  I apply a balm over it as the lipliner used on its own does tend to be a bit drying, otherwise.  The colour does not stay on 12 hours, but most of the colour survives through a meal, and a hint of colour remains even at the end of the day.  Here's how it looks on me:

Wearing the Avon Glimmersticks Red Brick Lipliner
I applied the lipliner, and blotted it a paper before applying lipbalm over it, so it does look a little lighter than the swatch.  Besides, the photo was taken some time back, and the full sun tends to wash out colours, but I am just too lazy to do it all over again :P :P

  3. btw- 2 serious queries :
    1) what s/w you use for watermarking?

  4. I use Picassa, Bee..and foundation - I use Chanel Perfection Lumiere - is meant for oily-combination skin types. I am not sure, but I think Neutrogena suits the more dry skins better - my friend has dry skin and looks so nice when she uses Neutrogena foundation. Don't know which specific one she uses, though..
