The first thing I noticed about the Josie Maran Argan Beautiful Eyes palette in Beautiful Purples was the packaging - love at first sight! I love the rose-gold packaging that Josie Maran seems to favor, and the eyeshadow palette is just beautiful. The flip-open case holds the eyeshadows on side and a generous-sized mirror on the other side.

Each of these palettes features 4 eye shadow shades and one shade meant to be used as a liner. The textures are a mix of satiny and matte - there is a slight shimmer in there, but it's very finely milled. The palette comes with instructions on how to use the shades - whether you want a simple look or something more complicated featuring all the shades.

The colours are beautifully coordinated shades of purple and beige. The pigmentation is pretty good, and I did not have any problem with fall-out or creasing. The swatches on my hand are without any primer.

The palette is beautiful - both from the outside as well as with the shades inside. Purple is a shade that would work for both for the warm and cooler skin tones, so this is a palette that would work for just about any skin tone. The colours can be used for subtle looks or built up for a more smokey, darker look. What I love the most is that the shimmer is subtle and the colours are kind of restrained elegant, and I can actually use these colours for a daytime summer smokey eye. Love, love, love! This is definitely one of the best palettes I have tried so far and a definite must-have.
