Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year Cream Lipstick in Tangerine Tango Cream (available here) - $18 An extra-smooth, creamy lipstick that glides on with a bright, tangerine-inspired hue, Tangerine Tango Cream is inspired by the Pantone Color of the Year for 2012.

The packaging is amazing - feels heavy, is a white casing with a magnetic snap close mechanism that feels really classy. The lipstick itself has parallel ridges running along the side, and the design adds to the overall appeal.

So, what's my verdict on the Sephora + Pantone Tangerine Tango Cream lipstick? "It's complicated!" The lipstick is creamy and goes on sheer but can be easily built up for more vibrant colour. What I have an issue with is that it tends to go on slightly streaky, especially if my lips aren't in their best condition (which they usually aren't!). I use a lip brush to apply most of my lipsticks, so it's not that much of a problem, but it's still quite obvious up close. There's also a slightly strong smell to it which could bother people who prefer less fragranced cosmetics. It's a fun colour to try out (mostly at home if you are anything like me :P :P), but at $18, I would rather buy something more affordably priced.
I love the way you've toned it down in the second pic. Beautiful shade, Rads :)
ReplyDeleteYa the first pic is probably the last time I would use it straight :D :D :D
DeleteNo, no I like that too! Just that the second one is how I would wear it out :D :D Bright oranges make my chin appear kinda ashy :(
DeleteOh I have that problem too..it's just a patchwork of colours on my face! And no, I meant it quite seriously..I really cannnnnot wear it outdoors...of course, partly because it's just not a good finish at all.
DeleteI loveddddd the shade Rads...so vibrant and summer-spring like!! :D
ReplyDeleteHii Cali! How are you? Very summery naa..guess it comes around every summer under a different name..last year also there were so many orange lipsticks floating around.
DeleteThis shade isss soo pretty dear! I am liking you ear rings too!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Taps :)
DeleteThis is really lovely on you, but on me it would look awful. I have pale pink toned ivory skin so anything in the orange family just looks dreadful on me. Sigh...it's a shame because I really love the look.
ReplyDeleteI think lighter corals should be orange enough for you :D
Deleteam i the odd one...i loveeed it on you in the first pic...think it beautifully compliments your skin tone....its a very daring color .....how are you...
ReplyDeleteHiii Priyaaaaa...how are you? Been ages na..I saw you red on gchat the other day..figured you would be busy so didn't msg. Oh it just looks tolerable in the pic...in real life..I don't knowww :D
Deletehow did I miss this post..I was so looking forward to it!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree trying a shade for $18 is a little expensive so when this whole craze for tangerine color started I bought one from drugstore brand.I agree the color is tricky to work with warm skin tone but just a couple of outings wearing this shade and you'll get comfortable..And this shade looks great on you!!
