Wearing Sephora + Pantone Colour of the Year Lipstick in Tangerine Tango Cream
The Sephora + Pantone Color of the Year collection launched some time back, and after much hemming and hawing I coughed up some money and bought the set so I could try out most of the products in the range.  The Tangerine Tango cream lipstick was available for purchase a little earlier for VIB members (I am not), and I read a lot of rave reviews for it, so I decided to start off my reviews with this one.

The packaging is amazing - feels heavy, is a white casing with a magnetic snap close mechanism that feels really classy.  The lipstick itself has parallel ridges running along the side, and the design adds to the overall appeal.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Tangerine Tango Cream Lipstick - Swatch
It's a bright creamy tangerine-coloured lipstick and definitely one that needs oodles of confidence to carry off.  But that's something I knew when I was buying it, so I really don't have any problem with that.  Here's how it looks on me - after blotting out most of the colour and a little lipgloss.

So, what's my verdict on the Sephora + Pantone Tangerine Tango Cream lipstick?  "It's complicated!"  The lipstick is creamy and goes on sheer but can be easily built up for more vibrant colour.  What I have an issue with is that it tends to go on slightly streaky, especially if my lips aren't in their best condition (which they usually aren't!).  I use a lip brush to apply most of my lipsticks, so it's not that much of a problem, but it's still quite obvious up close.  There's also a slightly strong smell to it which could bother people who prefer less fragranced cosmetics.  It's a fun colour to try out (mostly at home if you are anything like me :P :P), but at $18, I would rather buy something more affordably priced.
