Chanel Le Crayon Yeux Precision Eye Definer Brun Intense (available here) - $29
Line eyes quickly and easily with an eye crayon that achieves a variety of effects, from a subtle yet precise look, to a more dramatic definition. The built-in smudge applicator perfects a smoky eye look, while a companion sharpener ensures the pencil is always ready for lining.
Chanel Brun Intense Eyeliner is part of the small summer 2012 makeup collection. The pencil has a smudger at one end and comes with a sharpener - essential since the soft pencil does get rounded quite fast, though I haven't lost much product to sharpening.
The colour - Brun Intense - is brown with a hint of khaki to it. There's a bit of sheen to the colour, and this is definitely not your ordinary brown eyeliner.
How I use it: Apply a thick line close to my upper lashline, use the smudger to soften the line, then re-apply again - this time a thinner line close to the lashline. That's how I have done in the first photo on top.
Chanel Le Crayon Yeux Precision Eye Definer - Swatch
This is a colour that would work for any skin tone and a perfect replacement for the boring brown or the harsh black liner. It has a soft texture, and the colour is something I have never seen with any other brand. I think that's where Chanel scores. The problem with these eyeliners, though, is that they don't really last very long, fading with time. Use a primer and add some eyeshadow over the liner to keep it in place, but personally, I just think it's way too much work. Besides, why would I want to spend so much money on something just to hide it under some shadow??!! It does last about 3 hours though in a not-so-humid climate, and I use it on it's own when I know that's all the time I will be out for. A beautiful colour, though, and if you don't mind the splurge, do give this a try.
