Chanel Le Vernis Rose Cache (available here) - $26
My obsession with Chanel nail polishes continues, and on my nails this week is the pinkish-beige Rose Cache. A creamy opaque color, this has very fine shimmer scattered throughout, but it's not really visible unless I look very very closely at the bottle/swatch in sunlight. Certainly couldn't get it to show in the photos. The finish is fabulous, nonstreaky, and you can either apply it semi-sheer with one coat or go opaque with 2-3 coats.
Chanel Le Vernis Rose Cache (521) - 3 coats without a base/top coat. |

ReplyDeleteIt is, isn't it Cali? :happydance:
DeleteOoh, pretty! I actually don't own any Chanel polishes. I've always been of the mindset that drugstore polishes are every bit as good and sometimes better than high-end polishes. But I NEED this one! It's so delicate and pretty! Plus, my sister's wedding is coming up and I think this would look lovely on her!
ReplyDeleteHi Becca! It would look perfect for a wedding, won't it?
DeleteAmong the drugstore brands, I love Essie, and they have some really pretty colors, don't they? Chanel polishes are a bit of a luxury for the nails, but if you pick the right colors and are neat with your polish application, I honestly feel any brand can look just as sophisticated (and at times better) :D
This color is so pretty! It looks fantastic on you and I love your photos! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)

:D :D Ohh..does it ruin nails? Uh-oh..hope it isn't all that bad!!
DeleteSuch a great color. Whenever I apply a new nail color I think it should come like yours and I am still trying :(
ReplyDeleteAww..am sure you will get it right! Not that I have seen you applying, but I am guessing you aren't very bad at it either. I think you are like me - we notice and magnify every little flaw on our hands, but in real life (unlike magnified photos) it isn't seen so much. Two things that work for me is to sit quietly and patiently and wait for each coat to dry before applying the second one. The other thing is using a brush/q-tip or something small like that to clean up around the edges. That itself makes most applications look much neater.
DeleteYou look for acetone nail polish removers, not those mild, acetone-free versions. Use that only for cleaning up around the edges.
DeleteThanks for the great tips Rads :) Will defly try :)
