Chanel Sable-Emouvant Eyeshadow Duo (Summer Makeup 2012 Collection)

Chanel Sable-Emouvant Eyeshadow Duo (available here) - $42

A foolproof pairing of complementary shades in two unique textures housed in one convenient compact - designed to take the guesswork out of harmonizing and applying eyeshadow.  The softly shimmering light shade is a creamy powder, which can be worn alone for a luminous effect, or as a base to extend the wear of the accompanying deep-toned shadow. The dark shade has intense micronized pigments for true colour application.

Chanel Ombres Contraste Duo Sable-Emouvant is part of the newly released Summer 2012 Makeup Collection.  Packaged in glossy black Chanel packaging, this duo has two intensely pigmented, smooth shadows along with two small applicators.

This my first eyeshadow duo from Chanel.  I have liked all the previous versions, but somehow never did get around to buying one until now.  The Sable-Emouvant duo features a dark brown shade with really fine coppery shimmer and a pale creamy beige shade, also with very fine shimmer in it.

While both the shades have shimmer in them, it's very, very fine shimmer and not really something I have seen other shadows.  The shadows are buttery smooth, soft, and very pigmented.  The shimmer just gives a glow to the colour without actually standing apart as glitter.  This is one shimmer you can wear any time of the day!

On lighter skins, the copper sparkles would show up better.

Chanel eye shadows - the singles and the duos - are some of the best eye shadows out there (at least among all that I have tried).  Awesome pigmentation, smooth and easy to blend, and no creasing or fallout - there's no fault I can find with them. The Chanel Sable-Emouvant eyeshadow duo features beautiful, classic shades that I would reach for any time of the year.  The dark brown would work great for a dark brown smokey eye that I can use even for the day time.  An easy way to tone down the darkness, just dab a bit of the paler beige on the center of the eyelid.

Overall, a must-have from the Chanel Summer 2012 makeup collection.
