Clinique Moisture Surge Intense (available here) - $38
A cream-gel that instantly rehydrates for 24 hours while helping fortify and repair skin's moisture barrier.
What it is formulated to do: This rich, oil-free cream-gel instantly rehydrates. Skin stays comfortably plumped, even 24 hours after you put it on. Daily use helps fortify and repair skin's moisture barrier to keep moisture in and environmental irritants out. A better barrier means happier skin.
Suggested Usage: For drier complexions, or others dehydrated by air travel, parched climate, indoor heating/air conditioning, apply morning and night after your 3-Step routine. Can also be applied as needed under sun protection/makeup. Avoid eye area.
Clinique products have always been my last resort in skincare. My issues with acne breakouts prompted me to try the 3-step products - the cleanser, clarifying lotion, and the very famous Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel - and while you won't find me raving about Clinique all that often, I have to agree, that did sort out my breakout problem in a jiffy :D This time around, my skin did a complete about-face and got all dry and flaky, and I decided to try out the sample of the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense moisturizer that I got from Sephora.
This lightly fragranced, light pink creamy gel is a moisturizer meant for the Clinique skin types 1 and 2, and I am a skin type 3 (oily-combination skin type), so to start off this is not a product meant for my skin. That said, I used this during a particularly dry, dehydrated time of the year, and my skin was quite parched. The Clinique Moisture Surge does a fabulous job at sorting out any dry skin issues almost instantaneously. It feels quite light and refreshing, almost like soaking the skin in moisture. It never did make my skin oily, but in about 3 or 4 days, after my dry skin issues had been sorted out, it did cause a tiny breakout on my cheek. Overall, a fabulous moisturizer for anyone with dry skin problems (or as a temporary fix for any dry skin issues). I didn't buy the full-size version since this isn't a moisturizer recommended for daily use on my skin type. I still have lots remaining and would probably use it the next time I have a dry skin problem.
