NARS Marie-Galante Eyeshadow Duo (available here) -
Named for the Caribbean island in the Guadeloupean archipelago, this Duo Eyeshadow is an iridescent combination of orchid paired with regal blue and is at once both soft and striking. Wear layered for a look that really pops.
The NARS eyeshadow duo in Marie-Galante comes packaged in the typical NARS matte black packaging, and the super-sleek packaging also features a mirror. No brushes are included in this (or any of the NARS eye shadows).
The colours included in this duo are irridiscent purple and blue. A beautiful combination but sadly lacking in pigmentation. I could barely get a swatch to show up on my darker skin tone. On my eyes, I used a smudged black eyeliner as a base, and that helped the colours to show up quite well. On lighter skin tones, this might show up much more easily.
NARS Marie Galante Eyeshadow Duo - Swatches/FOTD
I had pretty good luck with the NARS Summer 2012 collection, and even liked the Soft Touch Shadow Pencil Calabria despite it's lack of staying power. When it came to the NARS Marie-Galante Eyeshadow duo, though, I am left wishing for a little more pigmentation. It seems quite sheer and mostly sparkles. On my darker skin, the best way to get this eyeshadow to show up is to use a darker base. If you are a fan of subtle, sheer colour and/or have a lighter skin tone, this might work for you.
