Urban Decay Primer Potion - Original formula

The Urban Decay Primer Potion is one of those makeup products that has quite a cult following.  In fact, for a long time in my makeup-limited world, this was the only primer I knew about.  Staying in India, though, all I could do was read the rave reviews about this online.  Not anymore :D  I snagged all 4 UD primers some time back, and this is the first one I tried out.

Now available in a much more convenient tube packaging, the Urban Decay primer potions were previously available only in the instantaneously recognizable curvy bottles with a flocked applicator.

The Urban Decay Primer Potion Original version is a beige coloured product that dries down to an almost invisible finish.  You only need a tiny bit of product to cover each eyelid (even for someone with ample eyelid real estate like I do).  Applying more tends to make it go on patchy.   The primer goes on smoothly and is quite easy to blend.

In the swatch test above, I used heavy swatches of the same eyeshadow both with and without the UD primer.  The swatch with the primer is the actual color of the eyeshadow.  The swatch without the primer is actually quite sheer and the colour looks different because of my skin undertone showing through.  Both in terms of bringing out the vibrancy/true colours of the eye shadows as well as crease-free long-wearing application, the UD Primer Potion in Original does a fabulous job.  It is definitely one of the best I have tried so far - okay, well maybe it is the best I have ever tried.  Expensive, but a little goes a long way with this product!

Side note on how to get the product out of the bottle as it gets over:  There are tons of videos on You Tube about how to get every last bit of product out of the bottle.  I haven't tried any of those - not yet reached that stage.  I think standing the bottle upside and down and letting gravity do the job might be all I will do.
