Chanel Joues Contrate Blush Rose Initiale (available here) - $43 Part of the Les Essentiels de Chanel makeup collection for Fall 2012.
Unique powder blusher offers buildable coverage, from natural to dramatic, and imparts a flattering radiance to cheeks. Remarkably silky texture ensures easy application of seamless colour. Applied high on the cheekbone, or near the eyes, it instantly 'lifts' and softens the face for a more youthful look.
Chanel's newest Joues Contrate - Rose Initiale - is a light shade of pink. In the pan, it looks mostly pink, though on my skin I detect maybe a tiny hint of peach to it (which might be because of the fine shimmer that gives a glow to the skin). Like most of the Chanel powder products, this too is perfumed, not something that bothers me overly but might be an issue for anyone with a sensitive nose. Texture-wise, this is a powder version and not a baked version that I have always got back in India - and I think I prefer these to the baked versions.
Chanel Joues Contraste Rose Initiale - Swatches/Makeup
The quality, as always, is amazing with the powder just melting into the skin. On my darker skin, I just get a hint of pink and a bit of warmth. Ideally, I would recommend this as the perfect blush for skin tones at least a tiny bit lighter than I am - it would show up better, in my opinion :)

Pretty shade :) But not for my deep dusky skin.
ReplyDeleteNice review Rads :)
Ya..I think we have similar skin tones, and this won't show up too well..
DeleteVery pretty! I wish it showed up on my skin :(
ReplyDeleteI expected a somewhat deeper blush being that this is a fall collection you know, this is more like a spring/summer type blush color.
So true!
DeleteThats a lovely rosy shade Rads..would love to try it on!! :D :D :D
ReplyDeleteHii Cali..am sure it would look awesome on you!
DeleteThis is a beautiful Rosy pink. <3 Loved it. :D I hv an Avon Dupe of this. :P But that shows up on deeper tones as well :) Its called "Hibiscus".
ReplyDeleteHi Jyoti :) Avon makes such pretty blushes..haven't tried any, but my friend and I, we literally eat up the catalog soon as it gets delivered, and the blushes look amazing. We usually end up buying the nail polishes and eyeliners :D Hibiscus sounds like it will be a perfect pink for deeper tones!
DeleteThere goes my blush ban....gotto have this one !!!
