The Body Shop Moroccan Rose Body Butter

TBS Moroccan Rose Body Butter (available here) - $19

Best for: normal to dry skin.  Soften your skin all over with a beautiful 24-hour moisturizer infused with precious oil from hand-picked roses.  Moroccan rose extracts moisturize and sooth skin with a fresh, floral scent. Community Trade shea butter leaves skin soft, smooth and supple. Community Trade babassu oil helps repair skin's moisture barrier while restoring suppleness.  The Community Trade shea butter contained in Moroccan Rose Body Butter is provided by the women involved with the Tungtelya Shea Butter Association in Ghana. This trade with The Body Shop means they continue to enjoy the benefits of the program, which has helped preserve a traditional livelihood and improved their social status.

The Body Shop's body butters are some of my favorite skincare products, packed with all the moisturizing goodness that my dry skin needs and if I just wait for one of their many sales, I can pick up a tub or two without hurting my wallet!  This time, I decided to try the Moroccan Rose Body Butter.  It was a tie between this and the Japanese Cherry Blossom version, which I picked up the perfume version of.

The Body Shop Moroccan Rose Body Butter is a pretty, pale pink colored product, just like the packaging indicates.  It has a delicate rose fragrance - the signature TBS Moroccan Rose fragrance - and while I am not a big fan of overbearing synthetic rose fragrances, I am quite comfortable with this light pleasant fragrance.  I definitely don't find it overbearing, but as with most scents, it's a personal preference, and if you have a sensitive nose and/or don't like fragranced products you might want to pick another variety of body butter.  In terms of moisturization, this body butter does an awesome job!  It has just enough oil content in it to soothe my dry skin, yet is fast-absorbing and light enough to be used comfortably during the summers (at least in a place without too much humidity).

Pick this up if you are a fan of Body Shop's Moroccan Rose fragrance and/or if you are looking for something that leaves your skin feeling (and smelling) just like a rose!

  1. I tried the Love Etc's Body Butter and as a body butter TBS makes amazing body butter but I realized perfumed body butter from TBS is not for me. I love and prefer the usual body butters from THBS now after experiencing the "perfumed" version of their bod butter ^_^.

    Thanks for the review!

    1. I too find their regular body butters a little more moisturizing than the perfumed versions, so I keep the fragranced ones for summers :D I like that TBS puts in the skin type recommendations, so winters I just pick the ones listed as meant for dry skin types.

    1. Ughh..I just typed a long reply and that disappeared :-| My blog hates me!!

I mix up the two all the time..think it's just cos they both are pink, and I like both of them :D :D I blame my obsession on my sister. She is TBS girl in the family, and I am the Lushie, but she sure passed on the TBS fascination on to me :D

  3. I thought I would share my experience with this product, briefly. I love TBS's body butters like crazy, but the scent on this turned on me, which is weird since I have other Moroccan Rose products which smell great on me. If you like the scent but find it doesn't work for you in this form, I highly recommend their perfume of this. So fantastic!

    1. Oh..but why did that happen?!!! Is that because of the other ingredients they mix in the moisturizer? The perfume version does smell quite nice, though :)
