Chanel Levres Scintillantes glossimer in Sweet Beige was released some time back - part of the Holiday 2011, I think - but was re-introduced with the recent Les Essentiels de Chanel makeup collection for fall 2012.  It is a nude, almost milky pinkish beige lipgloss, and like all of the Levres Scintillantes, Sweet Beige too has shimmer mixed in.  The colour is slightly darker than what my photos show, but after days of trying to get the photos right, this is the best I could come up with - sorry!

The Levres Scintillantes glosses feature doefoot applicators that make application a breeze.  The formula itself is nonsticky, and while I cannot truthfully say that it replaces my lip balm, I do find these glosses extremely lip friendly and nondrying.  The coverage is quite sheer, and on my pigmented lips, the color is almost nonexistent.  Generally, I use a rose-mauve lipliner to even out my lip color (it's what best matches my natural lip color) and then apply this lip gloss to get a neutral/natural lip color that doesn't make me look all washed out.  The shimmer in the formula is very fine, and while it's seen quite well in the tube, on my lips it almost disappears, visible only up close or under very bright sunlight.

A simple pinkish-beige color that pairs beautifully with darker eye makeup, Sweet Beige might not be the most unique shade out there, but it is very pretty.  Chanel makes some of the best lipglosses, and if you are on the lookout for the perfect neutral lip, do give this a try.

  1. After attending the make-up training at INGLOT (and as per the MUA's advice) I am planning to stop or atleast minimize my gloss collection (as I have a good pout - acc to the mua!!) and try matte lipsticks.

This review is totally unfair at this point of time Rads !!

    1. That is true...you do :) Matte lipsticks would look awesome on you....it's such a basic thing na but until you mentioned it I never thought of it.guess that's why those people are MUAs and we need to go there for training :D :D So how was the class?

    2. It never clicked me too, until the MUA mentioned !!

The training was 'okay'. The MUA did one half of my face and I had to do the other half the same way. I liked the half I did :D She filled the eyebrows too thick and it looked obviously made up ! The contouring I did was bad - I still need more practice(though she said I don't need much contouring). Also while doing my half I started with the eyes and forgot abt the primer n foundation that I applied blush immedly and even the MUA didn't remind me :P Thank God it was not too obvious as we covered it up with a loose powder. It was a good experience though. I found I was holding the brush the wrong way all these days !!

    4. I did get it :D Just takes longer to publish if I amn't online to moderate :)

Hmm..well at least you picked up useful information out of it. I always find the makeup that makeup artists do to be a little too heavy handed for my taste. I don't know if it's me being such an almost non-makeup person or MUAs being so comfortable with color or just a bad combination of both :D

I know it's a big no-no but I hardly ever use primer under my foundation..I find it just too many products for my skin, especially if all I am going to is to buy some veggies :D

  2. Love this, I got Troublant and am now eyeing Caprice--but really Sweet Beige would be a great everyday shade. It has the slightest amount color and lots of shimmer in a refined way. I like it!
