I got the Tarte Clean Slate 360 Creaseless 12-Hour Smoothing Eye Primer (wow..that's a long name!) as part of a Tarte primer trio from Sephora.  I haven't gotten around to using the other two primers, but I am always ready to try out an eye makeup primer :D

Tarte packs the eye makeup primer in a squeeze tube, and while I am not sure if the full-size version is the exact same packaging, it definitely is a tube.  I needed to give a good shake or two to the tube to get the primer to start flowing out, so now I just store the tube upside down to help dispensing easier.   The consistency is creamy that dries to an almost invisible finish.

Tarte Clean Slate 360 Creaseless 12-Hour Smoothing Eye Primer - The Good and The Bad

It's first product I am trying from Tarte, and I am definitely interested in trying more.  The eye makeup primer is creamy and easy to use.  It dries quickly enough and is almost invisible, smooth finish on my darker eyelids.  This is a huge plus point for me since a lot of the primers dry to an ashy finish.  I didn't have any issue with the product separating, but I did review a couple of reviews online about this happening.  I think giving the tube a good shake before using might solve that issue.  The other good thing about the Tarte Clean Slate eye makeup primer - it's free of parabens and is cruelty-free!  The one issue I do have is that it is just slightly less long-lasting than my go-to primer - UD Primer Potion or the Benefit Stay Don't Stray.  My eyelids tend to get oily over time, and to be fair, this primer did a pretty good job if I didn't compare it with the others.  If you have dry skin, this would be fabulous at smoothing out the eyelid and would last much longer.  Overall, this is a good primer, almost as good as the best!

  1. Thanks for the review! I have read great things about this primer and I am planning to buy this when I am done with NARS smudge proof. Hey, if you have oily eyelids I'll suggest you should try NARS smudge proof as I hv oily eyelids and I have been using nars one for sometime now.and for me nars works better than UDPP.

    1. Oh I am all curious about the NARS primer..there seems to be a division of sorts - the pro UDDP and the pro NARS group :D I am off NARS for a while - so irritated with their superslow shipping..

  2. This one looks ok--but I'm really curious to try the face primer. I really need a good one for my sister's upcoming wedding!!! With eye primers, I've been using Nars' version for a long time and it works great--so I have no desire to really try anything else
