MAC Coppering Eyeshadow (available here) - $15/$12
Color: Orange copperFinish: Veluxe Pearl
Description: MAC Coppering is an orange-copper eyeshadow with a metallic sheen finish to it. The texture is smooth, and it scores high on pigmentation and blendability. I use this as an all over lid color with a dark brown eyeshadow in the crease. Other options: It would work great paired with green and blended along the crease for darker eye looks to give a metallic copper sheen.
MAC COPPERING EYESHADOW - SWATCHES/FOTD
As I mentioned before, I find this the easiest to use as an all over lid color. Lined the upper and lower lashline with a black eyeliner (Chanel Noir Intense) and applied MAC Coppering all over the lid. Applied a dark brown shade from the Anastasia She Wears It Well palette to the crease. Curled lashes and applied my new favorite mascara - Maybelline Mega Plush. Here's how the eyeshadow looks - in swatches and on my eyes:
I was a bit worried the orangey-copper tones in this eyeshadow might be a little too much for my dark skin tone, but it turned out quite wearable. If you love brown-rust colours and/or want something with a hint of
color without straying too far from the safe neutral shades, you will
love Coppering. From what I have read online, I guess this would also be a must-have shade if you have green eyes.

Which other MAC eyeshadow from a similar color family would you recommend? Being a MAC-newbie, I would love to know :)

Rads, have you tried Antiqued? It is a gorgeous brown. A little on the sheer side but very wearable :D

DeleteCoppering suits you :) I don't have it but I have a similar shade that came out with the Venomous Villains collection known as De-Vil.
ReplyDeleteAnother shade you could consider is Amber Lights. It's a bit more 'amber'-ish than orange. It also goes really well with forest green or purple (your favorite :)).
Purple is definitely my fav :D Thanks for the recommendation!
