Pantene Aqua Light Shampoo and Conditioner: Review

Pantene Aqua Light Shampoo and conditioner - Fresh, clean, and light for weightless care. Silicone-free shampoo and water-soluble conditioner rinse clean in seconds with no heavy buildup. Leaves hair refreshed and light, for a flawless clean.

I generally tend to avoid silicone-based shampoos and conditioners because a lot of them irritate my scalp.  Pantene's Lively Clean shampoo is one of my favorites, though, for leaving my hair shiny and healthy, so when I saw travel sizes of the Pantene Aqua Light range at Target, I decided to give it a try.  The Aqua Light range features silicone-free shampoo and easy-to-wash off conditioner that leaves hair clean without any residue.

The clear shampoo and the creamy white conditioner both have a pleasant, clean-Pantene smell to them.  The shampoo was a big disappointment for me.  I try to oil-treat my hair before washing, and this was just too mild to be of any use!  It does a decent job on regular hair but nothing spectacular.  The issue, I guess, is with my hair type - thick and frizz prone.  This just doesn't seem to be made for my kind of hair, but I suspect it would work perfect for anyone with fine hair who needs a light clean.  The conditioner fares only slightly better.  It's easy to wash off but does nothing in terms of detangling my hair or taming the frizz.  Overall, I like the silicone-free concept and the ease with which the products get washed off without leaving any build-up, but these just don't seem to work for my hair :(

I would probably just stick to the regular Pantene versions which work just fine on my hair.  If you have light/fine hair and want to try something that won't weigh your hair down yet is gentle, you might want to give this a try.   Get one of these travel sizes if you can so you won't be stuck with a bigger bottle in case you don't like it :P

  3. Bingo! I tried these trial sizes too. My hair is waist length and this shampoo gave me a hard time lathering. I did not even feel clean. And if you have long hair that feels tangled and rough, its just terrible! I need to get a decent deep conditioner, STAT!

  4. Have you tried the Dove Nourish and Protect Hair spray? It's a golden yellow biphase sort of spray...spray it on and bye bye frizz and tangles...is not greasy either...do give it a try if you see it in store :D

    1. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! It's not a replacement for a conditioner...but I only need a few spritzes of it and my hair gets positively tame and oh-so-obedient after that :D :D
