Chanel Le Vernis Sky Line - Pale and pearlescent, nearly metallic. This new, uniquely elegant nail shade brings the beauty of blue down to the fingertips. Part of the limited-edition Bleu Illusion de Chanel Collection. According to the Polish Police, Peter Philips had this to say about Sky Line: “It’s a beautiful, easy to apply, pearly, on the edge of metallic shade
that matched perfectly with the range of blues that Karl used for this
haute couture collection.”
Chanel's Bleu Illusion de Chanel collection finally launched in the US, a while after it launched just about everywhere else in the world. I picked up only the nail polish from this collection. Sky Line is one of those Chanel shades which created a fuss long before it was launched. I wasn't sure about how a pale blue would look on my darker hands, but when I saw the pretty pale bluish-grey nail polish in the bottle it was love at first sight!
Sky Line is a beautiful soft blue-grey with a pearlescent finish to it. Depending on the light, the color leans more blue or grey, but at least on my skin tone, the color looks best in natural daylight. The formula does tend to make my less-than-perfect brush strokes a lot more obvious, but since nobody is going to be looking at my nails through a close-up camera lens in real life, I think that's quite okay. I have seen similar shades in other brands, but I do think Chanel's version is definitely different.
