With a blog that features predominantly makeup and beauty reviews, I end up trying a lot of products from a lot of brands - many just out of curiosity - and over time I have a few brands and products that I just love. Tried, Tested, Love! is just that. Every once in a while I will list a few things that I have tried and loved from a brand, and I hope you would share some of your own so I could try them too :) I will start with Maybelline - my absolute favorite drugstore makeup brand. There are a lot of products that I love from Maybelline, but today I am just listing 3 of them (will save the others for another round).
#1. Maybelline Gel Eyeliners - Available in a variety of colors, and I have almost all of them - didn't try the brown one - what makes these eyeliners a favorite buy of mine are the free brushes that come with these :P Reasonably priced and quite a steal if you pick them during one of the many BOGOs at drugstores. These are quite resistant to smudging and smearing, and also work great as bases for adding intensity to eye shadows.
These are budget buys, though, and in the long run, I don't think they are the same as buying a MAC or a Bobbi Brown (check my post here on MAC versus Maybelline). Short term, though, especially for those looking for less expensive options, these are not too bad (and you will always have the brush :P)
#2. Maybelline MegaPlush Volum Express Mascara - This is a newer launch from Maybelline, and I am so glad I did fall for all those ads and buy it. It gives natural-looking, clump-free lashes and adds some length to my lashes.
My favorite part of this mascara is the flexible wand - it ensures that I don't get the mascara on to my eyelids. Read my full review of the Maybelline Mega Plush Volum Express Mascara here. If you are looking for drama and volume with your lashes, though, this might not be your favorite.
#3. Maybelline Lipsticks from the Color Sensational Range: Saving the best for the last, these lipsticks are my favorite product from Maybelline - in fact, they are one of my favorite lipsticks irrespective of the brand! Inexpensive, available in a whole lot of colors, and have a creamy comfortable texture - what's not to love about them?
Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in My Mahogany is my most-used lipstick of all times - a creamy neutral/nude colour that suprisingly adds warmth to my face instead of making me look washed out. The one fault people do find with these lipsticks is the caramely fragrance Maybelline adds to them - not an issue for me, but I won't mind it not being there either :D
So those were my 3 Tried, Tested, and Loved products from Maybelline. Do you have any favorites from this brand - do share!

Great post Rads....I agree about the gel liners from Maybelline getting dried up fast, but it is indeed a big deterrent for me....But I too love the Color Sensational lipsticks..Great value for money!!
ReplyDeleteI was soooo happy with them for the time that they worked...and I kept them quite properly also - always closed tightly so they don't dry out :((
Deletenice collections...as always love your pics :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ray! :)
Deletepretty maybelline collection u have here Radhika... nice post :))
ReplyDeleteHii Nids..thank you! :) :)
Deletemaybelline is my fav brand :)
ReplyDeleten their gel eyeliners i just love... sad that we dnt get all the colours here in india :(
but i still have all the 3 variants available here ! another fav of mine frm maybelline is the ultra liner ... i love it ! :)
great post :)
The liners with the silver/gold swirls mixed in aren't available here - guess it's exclusive to India :( The green and blue ones were limited edition releases here, so maybe they will get the swirls too here some day :D Not tried the ultraliner - it's the liquid liner, isn't it? I have only used the Lakme Instaliner (and the NYX one - no like that one).
DeleteOhh ya the swirl ones r really nice although after some use the swirls start getting mixed up :-(
DeleteN yeah the ultra liner is the liquid one .. Its one of the only liquid ones i can apply easily :-) but its been discontinued here :-(
Oh is it? I didn't know that...still, it look quite nice for whatever time it works I guess :)
Deleteoh and the free brush is one of my favourite aspects too :D
ReplyDelete:D :D :D :D I still don't own a single "proper" eyeliner brush..I just keep these ones washed and neat and use them only for everything!
Deletehaha me toooo :D
DeleteIf you want to feel better about Mayb Gel Liners, buy an E.L.F one :D
ReplyDeletewondering how many items or rounds you would need when you come to a certain brand of the Cs :p
:| :| I am off the Cs for now...I trying to save money so me tryyyyyyyyinggggggg not to think of the Cs :| :| Oh I haven't tried the ELF ones...was quite tempted to considering they are sooooooo much cheaper than every other brand....
DeleteNice compilation Rads.. Now I want those gel liners.. How many colors are there in total? :p
ReplyDeleteI think the regular ones are black, brown, greyish-black, and that eggplant one. The blue and green were limited edition shades :)
Deletethe LEs... which only Rads got to hold :p
Delete:P :P :P :P :P hmmmmmmmmmphhhhhhhh...ausssssies don't need blue-green eyeliners..these are exclusively for US drugstore makeup aisle stalkers :D
DeleteI've tried a few of the Volum Express mascaras now and I find that not one of them actually gives me volume. Most are pretty good about giving soft, fluttery lashes that are never stiff or clumpy, but they don't coat my lashes thoroughly with product because of the longer, bendy bristles (I much prefer shorter, plastic/silicone bristles). I do like those gel liners though--which reminds me, I need to go buy some :P
ReplyDeleteThey don't really deliver much in terms of volume, do they? I haven't tried any of the others, but this one doesn't..
DeleteHi Radhika
ReplyDeleteNice post there ! :) I pretty much use all the products u have listed here except for the mascara. They are great value for money. Additionally I use the Colossal Kajal (the yellow one). It's really nice. My mahogany works great for my dusky skin tone. It's a safe color for office.
I buy their tiny lip balms too... :)
I am currently in love with my Lakme Absolut Plump and Shine gloss.
Hi Swathi :) I haven't tried the Colossal Kajal - not available here - but it's a superblack isn't it? Would love to try it out!
