Versace Yellow Diamond Eau de Toilette - Fragrance Notes

Citron from Diamante, Pear Sorbet, Neroli, Bergamot, Nymphea, Freesia, Orange Blossom, Mimosa, Amber Wood, Palo Santo, Musk
Style:  Surprising. Radiant. Fascinating.

I got the Versace Yellow Diamond as part of a set, so what I am reviewing is not the regular spray version, but that apart, it's the same product.  I know the bottle is supposed to represent something classy and exquisite, but I just find the cap disproportionately huge and and loud (and for some reason, it make me think of big-headed aliens).  A lot of people buy this perfume just because they find the bottle elegant, so apologies to anyone who this might offend!  With that sort of a start, I was not expecting much from this perfume, and I was quite pleasantly surprised by this light, fresh, fruity-floral fragrance.  It carries just the slightest hints of spice to it and a muskiness that comes out as it fades.  The initial minute or two is a bit sharp, but it quickly goes into a fruity floral.  While I don't really detect too much of an amber-musk to this, I think that's what keeps the fragrance from being too citrusy.  My one complaint with this would be that it doesn't last too long on my skin - most perfumes don't on my skin, so that could be just me.  Because it is quite light, I think it would make a perfect summer/spring fragrance and also an apt one for the day time.
