This is the first primer I am trying from Smashbox.  I do have the quite popular original version, but I haven't yet gotten around to trying it.  The Photo Finish More Than Primer - Dark Spot Correcting - version comes packaged in a convenient tube.  The product has the thin consistency of a lotion and is just as easy to apply.  A small amount goes a long way with this product, and it gives a slightly even smooth texture to the skin.

Smashbox Photo Finish More than Primer - Dark Spot Correcting - Face Primer
I couldn't take absolutely identical before/after photos of my hand, but the primer does give a much softer appearance to the lines on the back of my hand - works pretty much the same way on my face too.

The primer gives a very matte effect to my skin, and I would find this a welcome addition for my oily-combination skin in the summers.  Currently, with the low humidity of the winters, I find this a tad too drying if used all over my face.  I would just use it on the oilier portions of my face, at least for now.  I don't get the slippery smooth effect that silicone-based primers have with this primer, but it also doesn't make my skin feel blocked and hasn't caused any break outs so far either.  It does help my foundation go on smoother and stay on longer.  The dark spot correcting properties I cannot comment on, though.  I have not used it long enough to notice any significant change, and I do not use makeup on an everyday basis either to expect much of a change.  Overall, I think this would make a good primer for the oilier skin types and for the summers.
