Yves Saint Laurent "Rouge Pur Couture - Vernis a Levres' Glossy Stain - Swatches

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Vernis Levres Glossy Stain - Swatches
Yves Saint Laurent 'Rouge Pur Couture - Vernis a Levres' Glossy Stain - $32

The YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stains are revolutionary new lip products that combine the texture and shine of a lipgloss with a longlasting stain.  The light texture makes it incredibly easy to wear on the lips, and a flocked applicator with a slanted tip makes it just as easy to use.  For a natural shine, apply one coat to the center of the lips and brush towards outer corners.  To amp up the color and give more coverage, apply a second coat.  Here's a look at the swatches on my darker Indian skin tone.

    1. I was eyeing one of the coral shades, but on swatching I think these look a tad too bright for my skin tone :|

    2. Oh! Btw thanks so much for the Lush cleanser reco, its working like a charm. I use it alternatively with Cipla's Salcylic acid foaming wash (which I finished) and now bought the Cetaphil sensitive skin cleanser.

    2. Unfortunately, where I live(Hyderabad) there were only two pieces percolor ! That's a very tiny amount in stock for a new launch. So I just bought #2 and #7 immediately. I would love to buy a few more, but I think they will be out of stock. Like I said they deepen on lips, so even though #7 looks like a light peach, it actually deepens to a warm rose, and it has shimmer - perfection for me ! And #2 is such a beautiful browny red.

And the staying power - don't get me started, I wore the colors through 2 meals, and a few drinks in between, no difference, just the shine goes away, but the color stays put ! I am so impressed ! Just last week I also bought the new shiseido lacquer rouges - they are also pretty good, texture wise, they are creamier and feel nice on the lips, but they do not last this long.

    3. Oh..I think they just order that much so as to not let it go waste. Not sure about Hyderabad, but in Bangalore, they used to order very limited quantities since not very many people flock to the higher-end brands. Well..at least it was that way a while back...things have changed quite a bit and Bangalore isn't the quaint simple place it used to be :P :D

Lasted through meals..wowwww..that's just amazing amazing for a gloss isn't it?!! Like I said earlier, I had a tough time getting the swatch stains out of my hands so am not really shocked :D I have never tried Shiseido makeup - love their Skincare line, though. I have a few samplers of their lipsticks, but the lacquer rouges are quite different aren't they? Just about everyone raves about them...

    7. I am so sorry about my late reply. I do not have a blog of my own, though I do have an unhealthy rat e of interest in make up which is very bad for my bank balance !

I started in makeup about 2-3 years ago, started with low end brands, and slowly started checking out high end ones too. I love everything make up. It is really trans-formative. When I see people abroad about the brands that we don't get here, it makes me very jealous, but thank god for sites like Zuneta, FeelUnique, BeautyBay and Beauty.com

I would love to start a blog, but my work keeps me really really busy. Hardly have time to spend time with my own folks !

      :D :)

    8. Don't be sorry about late replies!!!! I am the queen of being late and lazy :D :D I started pretttttttttttty late too, and I still love my Maybellines, but yes, I do prefer the higher-end brands simply because they feel nicer :P

Never tried online shopping for makeup, but the Indian market does seem to be catching up quite fast at least in terms of fashion and beauty.

Blogging takes a LOT of time, and what starts as a hobby intrudes a bit too much into the more important things in life. Personally for me, I don't have the luxury of giving up my job to do this full time (neither do I think it would work out all that well if I try to :P :P) but a lot of people do manage to do quite well with their blogs...so if you do want to start one, do give it a try!
