The Burberry Lip Velvet Long Wear lipsticks (swatches HERE) are among the more recent makeup launches from the brand.  Following the new matte trend floating around, the Burberry Lip Velvets too are almost matte with a soft finish and a hint of shine.  The texture is smooth, light, and quite comfortable on the lips.  The color payoff is awesome and stays on my lips for a good 5 to 6 hours, fading only slightly through meals.  Burberry Lip Velvet lipstick in Redwood No. 304 is a beautiful brownish rose color - a perfect colour for fall/winters - and I love how it warms up my face instantly despite being a darker shade.  Scroll on for more photos and swatches.

The casing for the lipstick is similar to that of the regular Burberry lipsticks - a sleek gunmetal grey - but in tune with the matte finish of the Burberry Lip Velvets, the covers of these lipsticks have a dull matte finish to them.

The color is a soft rose-brown shade, though on my skin it seems to have a more of a reddish tint to it.

Additional Makeup Used:  My foundation-primer-concealer routine remains the same.
Korres Quercetin and Oak Primer and Chanel Perfection Lumiere foundation for my face, Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer under my eyes, and a hint of Chanel Joues Contraste blush in Malice.  For my eyes, I used Smashbox Onyx eyeliner in Black to tightline and smudge along lower lashline.  Used the lighter brown from the L'Oreal Hip Duo in Shady over entire lid and the darker brown shade along the crease and lower lashline.   Finished with Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Black.

I am in love with the texture, packaging, colour payoff, well, everything about this lipstick.  The Burberry Lip Velvet Lipsticks are my new favorites!  From the little details in the design (while some people do find it irritating, I actually quite like the magnetic snap closure that only locks in place when the proper sides are aligned) to the quality of the lipsticks, I think this is one higher-end brand lipstick that actually lives up to all its claims and luxury factor.  These lipsticks do have a slight fragrance to them but either because I am not that sensitive to the smell or it's just quite mild, this really doesn't bother me much and isn't really detectable once I am done applying the lipstick.  Do give the Burberry Lip Velvets a try, and I am quite sure you won't want to try anything else!
