Chanel Raffinement Vs. Sable-Emouvant Duo - Swatches

I was asked for a comparison between the Chanel Sable-Emouvant eyeshadow duo - part of Chanel's Summer 2012 makeup collection - and the newly launched Chanel eyeshadow quad Raffinement.  Both have a dark brown shade and a pale peach/beige highlighter shade included.  The darker shade in Sable-Emouvant has fine copper shimmer in it and has warm undertones to it while Raffinement has a cooler dark brown matte shade.  The highlighter in Raffinement leans a bit ashy on me with it's cooler undertones.  Here's a look at some side-by-side photos and swatches:

I love both Raffinement and Sable-Emouvant, and I do find them quite different - sure they both have browns, but I won't mistake one for the other!  Between the two, if I really, absolutely, just had to choose one, I would probably pick Chanel's Sable-Emouvant - I like the warmer undertones in the brown just a teeny bit more.  The beige shade also looks much better on my skin than the highlighter shade in Raffinement.  What would you pick - Raffinment or Sable-Emouvant?

    1. Aww..you are just too kind to me, Aarthi! :D :D I guess it's just about what you feel comfortable in..I feel safe in browns, so they probably look better on me - just cos I feel more confident about them..

  2. I have Sable-Emouvant, but had planned to return it. I may keep it now since the beige color looks better than that in Raffinement.

    1. I keep wondering that myself - even after buying both of them - there's always something newer, better coming out..and ideally, I prefer buying singles so I can get exactly the color I want..and yet, I went and bought the palette :| :| But it does have a perfect mix of very wearable colors that I would actually use..especially for travel :)
