Described quite briefly as "sangria," the reddish wine colored blush, Seduction, is part of the newly launched NARS Spring 2013 makeup collection.  The blush comes packaged in the usual NARS matte-finish/rubberized compact that with a mirror on one side.

Seduction is a reddish wine shade that looks a bit faded in the pan.  There is something like a shimmer/sheen mixed in to the base that reflects light to give that faded look, but it swatches completely matte.  The blush has a hint of reddish-brown in the base mixed with the wine color, and depending on the light, it leans either brownish or berry colored.

On my hand, it swatches a deep reddish-brown wine, and even with blending, the color has a brownish-red hue to it.  Seduction truly is the most pigmented blush I have ever tried!  Don't let that scare you, though.  It also is very easy to blend, and while I need to be careful to pick up only the slightest bit of product, I found it quite easy to buff into a beautiful flush.  I used my fingers for swatches on my hand - both the heavy swatch as well as the lighter blended one.

On my face, Seduction leans more wine with less of the reddish-brown part seen.  My hands are darker than my face, but they also are much clearer without all the dots, blemishes, and redness that my face has.  Any reddish spots on my face tend to get exaggerated because of the color of this blush.  I need to either have perfect skin (!!) or put in a fair amount of work concealing whatever I can (!!!!).  That apart, I loved the blush.  Used sparingly, it gives a beautiful flush to my cheeks that fits in perfectly with the weather we have right now - cold but sunny.

NARS blushes are quite a new experience for me.  I saw them for the first time about an year or so back on display at Sephora, and I was quite underwhelmed.  The blushes looked sad, faded, and dusty. I swatched the oh-so-famous Orgasm and supposedly-scary Exhibit-A and labelled NARS all-hype-no-substance.  Over time, though, I have learned not to go by how deceptively dull some of their blushes look on displays, and Seduction is just one such case!  The first thing I thought when I saw this shade was "faded," but it transforms to a beautiful berry shade on my cheeks.  And, all those times when I scoffed at "scary blushes"...well, I finally met one now.  I use the NARS Yachiyo brush to apply this product, pick up the teeniest bit on the brush, blow on it lightly just to be safe, and then blend it on.  A fan brush or the lightest touch with a stippling brush should work just as well.  I cannot help but repeat how pigmented it is, but I would also have to say - don't be intimated by this blush - go to the counter and give it a try.  You just might be seduced into buying it :)

  6. The blush is really pretty, but I also can't wear red-based blush too much, does require a bit of concealing. Sometimes I end up concealing after applying the blush just to balance out the redness.

Oh, you might want to tap the excess blush on the back of your hand instead of blowing on the brush as blowing can add bacteria onto the brush which may be transferred to the product and such. Seems like a lot of make up artistes are against blowing on brushes.

  7. This blush looks great on you!
Do you know by any chanc whether NARS has reformed all theis blushes' composition so as not to include parabens? I've been kept away from them for this reason and now I see that Seduction doesn't contain any of them! Happy me!!! =)

    1. Thanks!

About the ingredients, I am pretty new to NARS, so I really don't know if they stopped using it in all their blushes, but if it was there in this one they would have listed it on the box...so you are safe with this :D
