The newly launched MAC Archie's Collection had me doing quite a bit of impulse shopping, but I am quite happy with most of what I picked. My favorite, though, is Daddy's Little Girl (or DLG as MACaholics at Specktra have named it). I am not a huge fan of pink lipsticks and am normally too timid about wearing anything this bright, but there is just something about this violetish pink lipstick that has me fascinated!
Daddy's Little Girl is described by MAC as a midtone pink violet. This satin finish lipstick packs a ton of pigment and goes on opaque and smooth. I use a brush to apply the lipstick and blot most of it off on a tissue, but all that effort makes hardly any difference to how bright and beautiful this lipstick turns out. Here's a look at the swatch:

MAC DLG isn't a lipstick I am superconfident about wearing, but despite how bright and vivid the color looks, it is remarkably easy to wear! By easy to wear, I mean I don't have to worry about concealing every little speck on my face and even out my skin to near perfection to wear this color. The lipstick somehow just makes my face look much better. Here's how the color looks on me.

Also wearing, Prom Princess blush from the same collection.
I don't have very many MAC lipsticks, so this is quite a unique color for me, though long-time MAC fans might have similar shades squirreled away in their purses. I am blown away by how pigmented and long-lasting this lipstick is and how comfortable the formula feels on my lips. I wore this to dinner tonight, and the lipstick was pretty much intact when I got back home. In the words of my husband: "Your Nicki Minaj lipstick is Indian masaledar curry resistant!"
No, he didn't mix up the colors and think this is one of the Viva Glams...he just thinks anything bright pink = Nicki Minaj lipstick = MAC :-|
Since I am so in love with this color, I think...am sure..it would work on just about any skin tone (works for me, should work for anyone, right?), but if you are like me and shy away from bright colors, do give this one a try. Yes, it's bright, it's bold, but it's also perfect!
