MAC Archies Girls - Kiss And Don't Tell Liplass - Review, Swatches, FOTD

MAC Kiss and Don't Tell Lipglass (Archie's Girls Collection - Betty) - available here - $16.50

High-gloss, glass-like finish tinted with pale peach, pink and coral as sweet as Betty herself.  Wear it alone or pair it with Lipstick for a perfectly glossed look.  Limited-edition packaging features Archie's favourite Blonde-Next-Door.

MAC Kiss And Don't Tell Lipglass is described as a "bright coral," and this lipgloss is part of Betty's lineup of the Archie's Girls collection.  The packaging is a bit different from the usual MAC lipglass and features Betty on the tube and comes with a white cap (instead of the regular black).  That apart, everything else is the same, right down to the doe-foot applicator.

MAC Kiss and Don't Tell lipglass is a bright coral with a hint of pink to it.  For a lipgloss, this packs a good amount of color.  Unless you have unevenly pigmented lips like I do, the color in the tube is pretty much what you would get on the lips, though a slightly more thinned out version of it.  On my lips, if applied on its own without a lipliner or a lipstick, it gives a reasonable amount of color, but my naturally uneven lip color does show through.  Here's a look at the swatches and how it looks on my lips (without a lipliner/lipstick).

Other makeup used:  Face - Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation
Concealer - Bobby Brown Corrector (Peach), Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch
Cheeks - Mix of Burberry Coral Pink blush and Chanel Brume d'Or
Eyes:  UD Perversion Eyeliner and Chanel Inimitable Mascara in black

The coral-pink pop of color from MAC Kiss and Don't Tell Lipglass makes for a perfect spring/summer shade.  Being a lipgloss, there is a sheerness to the color which makes it much easier to wear on my darker skin tone.  I usually apply this over nude/neutral lipliners or lipsticks to give an even appearance to my lips, though I didn't do that in the photo above to give a more accurate representation of what the color actually looks like on me :P  The texture is a bit sticky, but it's easy to apply and does stay on 2 to 3 hours on my lips (if I don't eat/drink anything that long).  Overall, a pretty color to have around this summer :)

    1. Thank you, Agnibanya! After trying out whatever I picked up, I would bother spending money only on the lipglosses - this one and Mall Madness. The other two aren't that unique, imo, though no issues with quality. And the lipsticks too..DLG seems nice, but Betty Bright I didn't like at all - not the color (which doesn't work for me, but that's okay) but rather the texture, is superweird and patchy. Don't know if it's just something to do with my lips..

    2. Even I liked Ronnie Red and Daddy's little Girl, more so since its similar to Candy Yum Yum which I missed.... I hope I can get my hands on these two...Lets see..Waiting for the Rihanna Collection now :)

    3. Oh Rihanna's collection is going to be HUGE, isn't it? Lovely packaging too..I would have wanted the brush just for the packaging, but most of MAC's special packaging brushes don't get much great reviews...

    4. ah!! That's really terrible..I liked the brush set in this collection, the box more than the brushes actually...Though, I still haven't made up my mind about it...
MAC is suddenly coming up with more LE stuff than ever before , (or was it always like that!! ) and I don't know what to miss and what to get..But RiRi Woo I'm extremely excited about..let's see...

    5. Hahahaa..same here..box more than the brushes! Hope you get the Archie's pin too there...that is sooo supercute :D They have a couple of permanent collections too coming up - lipsticks and things like that - but ya they do seem to release a WHOLE LOT of collections throughout the year, don't they? I can never keep up with them!!! RiRiWoo is already getting a lot of attention here...thankfully I don't want a vampy color like that, so I don't have to run around trying to get one. I have a feeling it is going to be MAD when that collection launches :D :D
