Chanel Scintillantes Glossimer Crushed Cherry (176) - Review, Photos, Swatches, FOTD

Chanel Levres Scintillantes Glossimer - Crushed Cherry 176 (available here) - $29.50

Crushed Cherry is a newly launched lipgloss from the Revelation de Chanel makeup collection - a compact collection that features a mix of new and repromoted Levres Scintillantes Glossimer and the new nail polish TabooCrushed Cherry is quite a dark burgundy in the tube, and among the new glosses in this collection, this is the only one without any shimmer to it.  Application is easy and smooth with the doe-foot applicator, and unlike what it looks like in the tube, the actual color on the lips is a lovely berry stain.  Scroll on for photos, swatches, and more.

Chanel Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in Crushed Cherry is everything I love about Chanel lipglosses.  The nonsticky formula is very comfortable on the lips, and the gloss has just the perfect amount of shine to it.  The dark burgundy color sheers down to a lovely brownish berry tint on the lips and is deep enough that I can wear it on its own even on my pigmented lips.  I find it best to apply this in a thin layer - I have used a lip brush to apply it - rather than a thicker, more opaque layer to avoid it looking too goopy and settling into lines.  The lasting power on its own is hardly anything - about an hour or two on my lips - and it certainly will not last through a lunch.  I would wear Crushed Cherry on its own for quick errands, but if I do need the color to stay on longer, I would use this over a netural lipliner. Overall, a color that look lovely on any skin tone and perfect for any time of the year!

    6. Nope I haven't tried their eye shadows yet, to be honest I suck at eye make-up, so my eye shadow collection is limited to some staple MAC eye shadows and UD Naked 1 palette :)I am working on it though..hopefully I ll become good at putting and blending my shadows right. I have tried their blushes though and they are stunning. I absolutely agree on packaging :)

    7. Oooh you should share your MAC staples some day...or today..:P :D I am quite ignorant about MAC, and to be honest, all the hype about the brand kind of keeps me away from it. Everything is amazing and everything is wonderful, and people get so worked up about it...errr...no sorry, I don't find everrrrrrrrrrrrrrything wonderful! I just don't have the patience to sit and sort through reviews and figure out if the person is just cuckoo about MAC or if the eyeshadow is actually nice :|

I stick to 1 or 2 shadows - rarely a third one - that's about how much blending I can do...and then I tell myself - nobody needs to apply that many eyeshadows all together unless they are on YouTube :P :P :D :D :D
