Chanel Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in Rose Sauvage is one of the newly launched glosses from the
Revelation de Chanel (or at least, I think that's what the name is) collection that features a mix of new and repromoted Levres Scintillantes Glossimer and a
new nail polish - Taboo.
Rose Sauvage is a lovely pink with a hint of coral in the tube. Like most glosses, this sheers down quite a bit on applying to a lovely warm pinkish tint. This has fine silver and pink shimmer scattered throughout, and that adds a lovely sparkle and shine to the gloss - not really that obvious unless you look up close. Because the gloss is on the sheer side, it doesn't show up all that well on my pigmented lips. I would definitely need a nude/neutral lipliner under this, but it should be quite pretty on anyone with more "normal" lips :D

Soft, neutral shades are what I feel most comfortable in, and while
Rose Sauvage might seem a bit too sheer to make a huge difference to my lips, I absolutely love it. It does much better over a lipliner, and for pigmented lips like mine it also helps the pretty color show through better. None of the Levres Scintillantes Glossimer last very long on my lips, and with
Rose Sauvage I get about 1 to 2 hours of wear time at the most - again, something that would benefit with a liner. A lovely pick, if you like the Chanel lipgloss formula (which in my very biased Chanel-crazy girl opinion is simply the best) and if soft, neutral shades appeal to you.
I added a comparison photo -
Levres Scintillantes Nakkar (a lovely coral/peach) and
Rose Sauvage - just because I thought the two might be similar. Obviously, they aren't.
Nakkar has more of the coral/peachiness to it, hardly any pink, and has golden shimmer.
Rose Sauvage is pretty much a warm pink and has silvery pink shimmer in it and just hints of coral.

ReplyDeleteHi Manasi..no lipliner in this photo, but otherwise, I have an old Shiseido pencil that's pinkish brown and sort of matches my lip color. I use that for just about everything :D
