Beautiful Blonde-Next-Door Betty inspires a limited-edition colour collection with a soft, innocent sexiness. Lipsticks in peaches and pinks beam bright under layers of Lipglass in girly shades. MAC lipsticks have been a bit of a hit or miss for me, and Betty Bright lipstick from MAC Archie's Girls Makeup collection is just one such case. This limited edition shade comes packaged in an all-white Archies-inspired packaging featuring Betty. MAC describes this satin finish lipstick as a "light vibrant peach." I find this a bright coral with a hint of pink to it that's more obvious on lip swatches (perhaps because the underlying lip color shows through).
MAC Betty Bright Lipstick - Swatches |
MAC Betty Bright is a perfect-for-spring (or summer) sort of bright coral that is refreshingly light yet packs a lot of pigment. While this color, on its own, doesn't do me any favors, I think it does look good topped with a lipgloss. What I do have an issue with is the formula of the lipstick itself. I find that it goes on patchy and really horrible looking, and even the tiniest dry flake just exacerbates the problem. I have read that exfoliating and using a lip primer helps with this, and I have found filling in the lip with a neutral/nude liplner to be another way to use this lipstick. I really don't feel I need to put in that much of an effort to make any lipstick work, though, and that's just my personal opinion. The color can be really pretty on a lot of skin tones and is not one easily found in a drugstore brand, so if you like the color, you might want to give this lipstick a try. Here's how the lipstick looks on me:

I never like the Satin finishes from MAC..they always make my lips look so unhealthy even if they are actually in good condition, lol! The color looks nice on you though, goes with the overall look :)
