Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour - Chalys 07 (available here) - $32

I got the Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lipstick Chalys as part of a small sampler with purchase a while back.  I still haven't used up the first of these samplers, and I have few more of these lying around, and I really doubt if I would ever bother buying full sizes of any of these lipsticks any time soon., so this is a sampler-swatch sort of post :P  Chalys is a bright coral-orange shade with a slight shimmer/sheen to it.  Like all Rouge Coco lipsticks, this goes on quite smoothly on the lips and never dries them out, but it definitely is not a creamy, moisturizing lipstick either.  The slight shimmer in it gives it a slight silvery sheen (rather than actual shimmer).  The coverage isn't completely opaque, and some of my uneven lip pigmentation does show through if I don't use a liner.  Lasting power is about 3 hours.  Scroll on photos and swatches.

A bright color that is perfect for spring/summer, Chalys would transition easily from a lighter fresh day-time makeup to working with slightly heavier eye shadows.  The one fault I do find with this formula is that my lips need to be in perfect condition before gliding this on - any flakey bits tend to get exaggerated and the lipstick can looks patchy.  A gentle scrub to smoothen the lips before application and using a lip brush to apply the lipstick definitely helps.

    1. It's a lovely nude/neutral sort of color, isn't it? I heard some newer Rouge Coco Shines will be out this summer - similar colors but more pigmented..am waiting for those

    1. I think they do...these are not common here either..at least with Chanel. I know one Indian blogger who got similar samplers in India at the Chanel counter - but yes, you have to ask and they are not available all the time :)
