It Cosmetics Anti-Aging Celebration Powder Foundation - Review |
I got to try the
It Cosmetics Anti-Aging Celebration Foundation as part of the
It Cosmetics Hello Beautiful makeup set. While the makeup set was an exclusive on QVC, the powder foundation is easily available all year round. The powder foundation claims to provide full coverage and is filled with skin-friendly ingredients like peptides and hydrolyzed collagen. The packaging is a very convenient compact with 2 separate compartments - one for a sponge and the other holding the mirror and the powder foundation. Applying with a damp sponge gives heavier coverage, but the foundation can also be applied with a buffing brush, and in fact is available as a set along with the
Heavenly Luxe Buffing Airbrush Foundation Brush for about $44. Scroll on for photos.

On to the product itself, I got the
It Cosmetics Anti-Aging Celebration Foundation in Rich. This is the deepest shade. The 4 other lighter shades are Fair, Light, Medium, and Tan. I think I would need a teeny bit more peach/yellow in the foundation to be an exact match for my skin, but I don't use this as a heavy coverage foundation, rather just as a light powder over a tinted moisturizer, so it works out all right for me. Anybody darker than I am might find it difficult to find a suitable match, though. I have oily-combination skin, and anything with "anti-aging" in the description usually leaves me with an oily face. This foundation, though, feels quite matte and almost drying on my skin, soaking up any shine in an instant. I do not use this with the included sponge - which would give more coverage - and use the buffing brush to apply this, and I would describe this as a medium-coverage foundation. Here's a look at swatches and how it looks on me.

Overall, I would describe the
It Cosmetics Anti-Aging Celebration Foundation as a medium-coverage foundation (with probable heavier coverage with a damp sponge). I am not sure how well this would work for someone with drier skin, since I do find it a tad too matte even on my oilier T-zone. In my opinion, this would work great topped over something like a BB/CC cream or a tinted moisturizer as an extra coverage, or applying only on areas that need a little extra help. The best deal would be to pick this up as part of a set, so you get to try out a bunch of other products without shelling out too much cash on any one product :)

ReplyDeletePlease advise if the It foundation in Rich would work well for African Americans with a medium to light skin tone?
ReplyDeleteHi Helen..I would be around MAC NC45, and I find it a little light - more than being light, it doesn't have that yellow undertone in it to match my skin undertones. I think it might match your skin color, but I am not sure if it would be able to skin your undertones if you have yellow/peachy/olive undertones to your skin. If you have a cooler skin tone, it might match better.
