The Weekend Makeup Breakdown

Weekend Makeup FOTD Breakdown - Products Used

I was doing a bit of cleaning/organizing last weekend and found some makeup that had been put away a long while back, hardly used and some barely swatched. This weekend I used some of these for my day-out makeup - nothing extraordinarily unique, just a darker, purple eye and a bright coral blush.  I kept the eyes dark, but since I didn't extend the color out too much and paired it with lighter lips and a brighter blush, it didn't look too odd for a bright, summer day.

Weekend Makeup FOTD Breakdown Products Used Indian Beauty Blog
Makeup Used:  Face:  Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation (BA54)
Bobbi Brown Concealer (Honey) and Corrector (Dark Peach)
MUFE Powder Foundation (Sephora sampler)
Sephora Blush Duo Coral/Desert Flower
Eyes:  UD Eyeliner in Empire smudged along upper lashline (forgot to add in pic)
Dark shimmery purple eyeshadow from the Anastasia Want You To Want Me Palette all over lids and lower lashine.
UD Eyeliner in Perversion along waterline.
L'Oreal Eyeshadow in Dashing (black side) along upper lashline.
Curles lashes but skipped the mascara.
Lips:  Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Bonheur topped with lipgloss (forgot name)
I have been trying out the Bobbi Brown Concealer and Corrector for a while now, and while I find the texture slightly dry, this combination does provide reasonable coverage for my dark, dark, dark circles :P  I think the concealer is a teeny bit light for covering my blemishes (though that is what I have used here), and I need to try the darker shade some time at the counter.  I have been using the Ecotools smudger brush - a slightly bushy pencil/pointed brush - for applying the concealer.  For some reason, that seems to work best!  Then tap tap and blend out with my fingers - that's my concealer routine for now.  Set with powder using the Hakuhodo brush, basically any fluffy eyeshadow brush.  Oh, and Q-Tips for taking off any excess at the end.

So that was my makeup for the weekend.  It was/is (depending on the time zone) my birthday on Saturday, and the highlight of the day were definitely the scrumptious cupcakes my sister ordered for me from Sprinkles...yummm!  Will post pics if I don't eat them up :D  What about you - how was your weekend?

  4. Love the makeup breakdown Radhika! and Happy Birthday!! <3 I've been eyeing Nars brushes for a while, how are they working for you, compared to ..let;s say Mac Brushes? Thanks!

    1. Thanks Anj!! :D Hmmm..they were a bit of an impulse buy when NARS had their sale last year, and I quite like them (especially the loooong handles :P), but if I had to be honest, I think MAC brushes might be just as good - I haven't used MAC though, am just guessing going by what I have seen/felt at counters.

  9. thanks , I love this look, unfortunately for me I have quite a bit of blemishes, I find that cover fx corrector is perfect, stays put and a little goes a long way

    1. Cover Fx is supposed to be really, really good. I haven't yet had the time to go to a store and figure out which shade would match my skin..I want to try this and the MUFE one too..

  10. Happy Birthday, Rads! Hope your day was amazing.

    Looking good :)

What eye cream do you use? If you find the concealer a bit dry, they say you can mix it with eye cream. Another option is the Careblend oils from MAC. I sometimes spritz my wedge sponge with Fix+ and blend the concealer if my under eye is feeling a bit dry.

Don't know which blemishes you were talking about..your skin looks so nice.

  11. Thank you, Fieran! I am using a Chanel eye cream currently and I also have Clinique something sampler..I can try mixing either of those with the concealer..and also have argan oil..would that work as a substitute for Careblends? I am just not sure how to mix it up because this concealer is soo hard packed sorts (and I know for concealers it's a good thing to be dryish and hard because it means they will stay on longer on the skin) but how do I mix it with the cream? Should I scoop out a bit on the back of my hand and mix? Sorry if this is a bit of a "duhhhh" question :P
