|Clarins Moisture-Rich Body Lotion ($40/6.8 oz)|
Clarins Moisture-Rich Body lotion is a rich moisturizing lotion that intensively nourishes and soothes dry skin. Though ideal for all skin types, the formula is especially good for dry hands and body and for the winters. While I am quite enthusiastic about trying out any moisturizer for dry skin, I generally stay with drugstore brands (or something affordable from Whole Foods). Clarins body lotions are pricier - particularly for me since I use up quite a lot and quite fast - and not something I would generally buy, but this Clarins Moisture-Rich Body Lotion was a smaller/trial size and part of a Clarins skincare kit that I had bought a while back. So did the Clarins lotion live up to it's claims of being a fabulous moisturizer for dry skin - read on to find out.

Clarins Moisture-Rich Body lotion is a creamy, thick lotion with a pleasant floral smell to it. I actually like the smell a lot when I put it on initially - and I am quite tolerant of strong smells - but after a while it does start to feel plasticky and it seems to stay on and on and on. The smell, not the moisturizing effect. For a "moisture-rich lotion," I didn't find the moisturizing effect all that great. It's a good day lotion - light and easy absorbed - but I do find the need to reapply in the night. Plus, this seems to be a mineral oil based mosturizer, and I prefer more natural ingredients in my moisturizers - something that I can easily find in even drugstore brands and at a much lower price point.
I have very dry skin, though, and I prefer something that sort of nourishes my skin from within. For anyone with regular/normal skin or staying in areas with higher humidity levels, this might be a good moisturizer.
