Urban Decay pencil eyeliners are among my favorite makeup products. The uber-black Perversion is a must-have for me, but there are a lot of other colors in the line-up that are quite good but perhaps not so talked about. Smoke is one such color. It is quite aptly named and is a grey that really does look like dark dense smoke. The formula feels smooth on the skin and as with most other UD pencils, especially the non-shimmer ones, Smoke sets quite fast and then just stays on until I take it off with a good makeup remover that is meant for waterproof makeup.
In the swatches above, I have added in a black liner (Perversion) for comparison just to bring out the grey tones in Smoke better. Smoke is a deep grey with a matte finish and makes for a nice alternative to black liners. On my skin, this shows up much better than brown liners do. As for how I use it, it's usually as a thin line along my lashline as in the photo below or sometimes smudged along the upper eyelid as a base for other greyish shadows.

Urban Decay eyeliner in Smoke might not stand out as a must-have shade among the UD liners, but do give this a try if you are bored of the usual black and brown liners but don't really want to go all out with blues and greens :D
