Hanae Mori Parfums Eau de Collection No. 8 (product provided for review) is the grand finale of the remarkable Eau de Collection series. Inspired by the aroma of Japanese cherry blossoms and filled with notes of Kyoto cherry blossom, plum nectar, and passion flower, No. 8 is a delicious gourmand fragrance. Reminiscent of lush flower gardens in Asia, topped with fruity delicacies from Europe, this sweet scent is a blend of east meets west- a signature of Hanae Mori’s fashion.
Hanae Mori Eau de Collection No. 8 follows the trend set by the classic perfumes from the brand, and every aspect of the perfume from the bottle to the actual fragrance has ties to the Hanae Mori story. The number 8 on the bottle represents an infinity symbol, a reminder to embrace life’s infinite possibilities and live your dreams, just as Hanae Mori did in all of her endeavors. The fragrance itself is a sweet perfume - quite typical of a Hanae Mori perfume - fruity floral yet surprisingly quite classic. There is a warmth to the fragrance as it opens with the headier plum, passion flower, jasmine, and freesia. The musk and patchouli float up as the perfume settles into the skin which, on me at least, doesn't take very long. Overall, Hanae Mori Eau de Collection No. 8 is a lovely fragrance with a spicy sweet warmth to it that makes it a perfect pick for the cooler fall months.
